So basically, come september I'll be starting my placement year. This placement will be based 50% in manchester and 50% in liverpool - the trip to manchester will have to be via train due to traffic & parking, the trip to liverpool will be done via car.
Anyway, I have been thinking that for...
about a month ago I would protest Nokia, but since my sister got a iPod Touch, I've seen how amazing the app store etc is.... the 'Touches are the best gadget about, add to that the fact the iPhone is a phone.....
iPhone hands down! (my friend just bought one on PAYG, he's loving it)
Baaaaad idea :P
You get what you pay for tbh.
If you torrent, wait until 11:30pm-5pm, 5pm-11:30 = poor speeds, and if you use too much traffic during this time they'll basically blacklist you and you get put on an ultra slow server!
We've (parents house) been with tiscali for about 7 years...
Silver RS - YN54 SPV
Not sure on 172/182, looked smart anyway, on the Ashbourne road heading towards buxton.
Anyone here? Didn't have a CS sticker, but then again I haven't put mine in yet (and I haven't got an RS :P)
A cheaper alternative to the G25 is the Driving Force Pro.
I've got one and its brilliant. Only features missing (from the G25) on the DFP are the Clutch and 6 speed gear box. The paddle shifts and 960 (or however many) degree steering are still there.
I got mine for £60.... shop around
I've always been a PC gamer since I got my first P4 Based machine back when I was 14 or so...
ATM, Spec is:
Core 2 Duo e8400 @ 3.4GHz (havent had time to OC it properly yet - exams etc)
Asus P5Q Pro
4GB XMS2 Corsair 800Mhz
430w Seasonic S12 PSU (soon to be upgraded to either OCZ 600w or Tagan...
Yeah their legit.
Never used them myself but know plenty that have.
Why not Scan/Ebuyer etc thou? The big names are probably cheaper (being scan/ebuyer) :P
James
I deffo got to 85ish in 4th once.... was overtaking a muppet who decided he'd like to keep up with me (thankfully on a dual carriage way).
*All numbers by the way are in MuffinsPerHour, not the traditional MilesPerHour*
Right, 'rents have decided that upto 24" would be good, and raised the budget to max £300.
I noticed this as i was searching. Its spec seems perfect, however I'm worried that viewing angles may be poor as it seems to be aimed at been a hybrid monitor/TV rather than primarily a TV with a DVI...
As above - need a good recommendation of a 19" (or 20") LCD TV, with the following:
HDMI input
DVI/VGA input (either)
Reasonable sound
Scart (pretty standard :P)
Wall mountable
Freeview is not essential as we can't get it in my area (we use freesat) however its a bonus incase we move in the...
Hey,
Basically, starting between june-> september this year I'll be starting a 12month placement (I've yet to get one secured, but have been applying since janurary). I'm working on the assumption that I'll get one eventually, and the pay will be around £12k over the year.
So, I plan to...
That is one nice dam rig!
Wish I had a bit more income, an i7 rig is top of my shopping list atm...
Once I get on my placement year (this year once I secure a placement!) I'll be shelling out on new kit..... look forward to it :)
JEALOUS!
P.S. I broke my HD4870 earlier this year :(
You'll be perfectly fine with a Netbook running XP for the next 3 years atleast.
They are designed PURELY for net use.
Also, (basic) programs (such as IE, Firefox, Thunderbird etc) will continually be wrote to work with XP for atleast 2 years, as many people still havent moved to Vista.
Depending what type (i.e. DDR, DDR2) you could pay upto £60/Gig on the internet.
What to expect:
DDR - anywhere between £40 -> £60 for a 1GB stick
DDR2 - from £10 for a 1GB stick
IIRC MSI Wind is the one most recommend.
However, they're all pretty much the same spec so you may aswell just get the best (for rugged-ness, reliability) your budget can afford.
I'd get the G1 too.
I love nokias, however this is their first touch screen phone - and may not be 100% perfecterooo
Even if it was, I'd still go G1 - it's running a better Operating system (Android/Linux) meaning your likely to find many more applications etc & most likely for free.
Is it just me, or does nokia handle the whole warranty really well?
Had my new Nokia 6220 in for repair (only 13 days old, but it was playing up, I cba asking 3 to do a straight replacement as I know 3's customer service has something to be desired).
Problem: The camera app would just start...
I've got a mate who still uses a Slot based P3 machine. Think its got an FX5200 if my memory serves right. He also recently threw out a slot based celeron (i think it was P3 gen)..... i nabbed it for geeky-ness
Wasn't there a film with that kinda thing?
The one with 3 wierd people hard-wired into a machine that could pre-empt everything.... can't quite remember the name
edit: Minority Report
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0181689/
My understanding is that O2 are really good at retention deals - i.e. if you tell them you think your paying too much, they'll lower your costs and give you more minutes/texts and a better phone...
Just say you might leave, and they'll be humping your leg
If your not too bothered about clutch and the 6-speed, get a Logitech Driving Force Pro...
I really wanted the G25, until i realised i could get one of these for less than £65
It has paddle-shifts and a sequential shift.
Can be used for PC or PS2/3
The pc drivers can be found on the Logitech...
How is that PubIT knowledge?
He's clearly right, McAfee is pants, a resource hog.
Don't know where people are hearing that AVG is dodgy, but from my use over 7 years, its been top notch. I've also shoved it on lotsa mates builds, and they haven't had a problem.
I also use IE7, and i too will not stop using it
I occasionally use Google Chrome or firefox, but generally these days I find that it makes no difference, IE is easier to use due to the keyboard shortcuts etc always been the same whichever pc you get to. The other browsers usally have the...
