Easy! My WRX was running 307bhp 299lb/ft. That was running TD05 turbo (standard on early saloon imports) 440cc (yellow) injectors, Walbro 255l/ph fuel pump, completely decatted exhaust, HKS induction kit, front mount intercooler and mapped on Apexi PowerFC management. Not a lot could touch it...
Yes there is a WRX Ra and an STi RA.....there's far too many models in all honesty, but you can't beat anything that has the STi RA part in it imho.
Our last 2 rally cars have been based on the STi RA with DCCD gearbox. In comparison to my old road car Scooby, which was by no means standard...
It's a hawkeye....still lightweight though. If it IS a Spec C, break the bank for it, you won't be disappointed.
On the classics it's the STi Ra that has the "stronger" engine, i.e closed deck block, although very early WRX's also had the CDB which was phased out to only being used on later...
The Eibachs never seem to lower them anywhere near the stated drop tbh. I just fitted Sportlines to mine and they're nowhere near the stated drop...thank god lol! This CS advice is good advice.
15" F1's can be for heros, i'll have that extra inch and not be one :rasp: ;)
Hutchie, the Imp is my mates, that's just a doner for his one he's currently, when he get's around to it, building. There's a guy here who restores/builds them just up the road from me, he has a proper ex-works...
I am indeed! Going for the full weekend, driving down Saturday, camping, show Sunday, camp Sunday night and drive home Monday!
I only bought them from Revolution, fitted them myself, no one works on my car but me, i'm the only one I trust!
Thanks, I wasn't sure at first, but now it's...
For now it feels fine, but because i've spent that much on it in the past 3 weeks or so, new shocks will have to wait until after French Car Show.
My verdict and opinion, thus far though, is that the standard shocks are fine so long as they're in good condition.
I'm uprating in the next few...
The fact they're brand new tyres won't be helping much either. Put a few miles on them and they should come good, my Toyos were a bit like this to begin with, but they're MUCH better with a few miles on them.
As per the title, went over to Revolution in Gateshead this morning for my new lowering springs, Eibach Sportlines, and fitted them this afternoon, and now, I think, the 172 is ready for FCS!!
Happy days indeed!
Piccies...
They'll still need to settle a bit more, as these were taken...
^^^ This!
As for getting it even all the way around....line the back of the little tabs up with the back of the bumper, and it keeps it level all the way round.
Nice and easy :)
Here's about the only on i've got of mine fitted close-ish up...
hope that helps!
Just out of curiosity...
Do you need to replace the gasket (I assume there is one in there!) between the plenum and the lower part of the inlet?
I'll be doing my plugs this weekend and would need to order a gasket before then if necessary.
Cheers.
This, but i'm an old git lol.
Stupid question, but have you tried any of the comparison websites? Always came up trumps when I was younger with a decent car!
It'll be the odd one out on the Club-306 stand at FCS, can't be a deserter to the club that i'm mod on, and a member of for years. Always go with them, even with the Scooby last year lol.
Looking forward to seeing the CS stand though :)
