I ended up removing the rear exhaust heat shields as they were rattling when going over bumpy roads at lower speeds. Exhaust mounts are guff, very poorly designed!
I've got the eurocarparts ones on mine as well. You are also best getting new hub nuts as well on the rear rather than re-using.
25% I'd be surprised if the rear brakes were contributing more than 5%-10%!
My rear offside is doing this with new pads/disks as well. Can get a second hand caliper for £20 so I'm just gonna replace it as taking the pipe off the caliper its getting fluid through ok.
I've wrapped a lot of my exhaust as I wanted to remove the heat shielding from under the car as I could not get them to stop rattling. Quite lucky though as I used to be in the Merchant navy and, erm, borrowed a pile of exhaust wrap for the car. It can be expensive stuff.
HI guys,
Renewal time again, comes round far too fast. Am a 31 year old driver with 2 years no claims and no accidents naughty points with a 25 year old with 2 years driving experience to be added as a named driver. Have tried Admiral/elephant, direct line, tesco, confused etc. Admiral comes...
Just a wee annoying one today. My gearstick started to get a bit squeeky when changing recently and the last few days it has gotten louder. Coming from just below the gaitor. Am I able to spray WD40 down there or is thre a particular type of grease I should use?
Cheers

I bought one of these ages ago for my 172 Cup. Got it at a bargain £90. Been sitting in my garage for ages as it looks like a lot of hassle to change. Maybe when the good weather comes in.....
I had one of these on my Luop GTi and worked and sounded nice oncde the caf was routed properly. Bit expensive for what it is, wich they made a cheaper non carbon version.

Can you see exhaust gas coming out when car is running? Itll probably get worse but may be able to be welded up if you take it to an exhaust place rather than replacing. If its a Phase 3 isn't it still under warranty?

As already mentioned if car is driving fine it is in all likelyhood teh post CAT lambda which does nothing apart from keeping the enviromentalists happy! :)
I have used partsgateway.co.uk lots of time and have nothing but praise for the Renault parts companies who quote through the site. Have got a quote a few times and have had the part (with warranty) within 24 hours!
Was especially handy when a bolt sheared on one of my brake calipers and I...
If you take the inlet manifols and sparks etc off - pull out as much stuff as you can see then turn the engine over on air with the sparks out. Thats prob your best way to limit damage. Maybe even run a wee bit of oil into each cylinder and turn it a few times on air. Hopefully fire and bits of...
I've had quite a bit of problem to with fairly new standard system. Think Its important from teh outset to get them hanging right so the load is spread accordingly between the centre and rear mounts. I'm gonna change it for the £200 mild steel Ktec stealth and hopefully I won't have to keep...
Do both the springs look in tact? Maybe a small bit has broken off the end of the spring where it sits. Just changed a spring on my mates Golf and it was this.
