At that price I would go Octavia VRS or Accord Type-R (my previous car!).
Accord Type-R (ATR) handles like a dream with a good LSD, and is ultra-reliable/does good mpg when you take it steady. It will keep up with a UK Scooby if you really try! (and its a darn sight cheaper to insure/run...
Yup - thought Id lose a packet if I sold after 6 months - although the Subaru garage has offered me a good deal now on an 04 STi (£13k trade in - although obviously theyre discounting the STi massively) - decisions decisions!
Ditto!
Looked at swopping mine against an STi, got p/ex deals ranging from £9.75k to £10k
Cost me just over £13k in April (UK car with both cup packs, 8k miles) - thats £500 depreciation a month!
Privately you may get £10.5k up to £11k if youre lucky - its all the motorpoint ones new at...
Sorry to hear about your V, similar thing happened to a mate - my understanding is that its not on Cat D unless its missing, insurance pays out and then it turns up later?
Although I dont put my keys near a door/window I dont take them to bed - would rather they didnt wake me up!
Just had a puncture last week - managed to use the mobile compressor I have in the boot to put enough air in to get to ATS - luckily it was repairable and cost me just £5!
I thought it was low too - UK car, both Cup packs and just me as owner (8k miles and mint!) same trade-in value from Motorpoint (!) and local Subaru garage against an STi. They werent budging on STi price either so it would mean an extra £11k!
Was thinking of it, but after realising the 182s...
Depends on how important the toys are to you really - dont think either will hold their money tbh (I was offered £10k for my 182 yesterday as a trade in!)
I agree - after 6 months Im still struggling with the seats (65" though!), although it has got a bit better.
Just need Renault to sort out the Recaro option! (although I dont think that is likely to happen anytime soon!)
Compared to a CTR the 182 is a bit rattley and feels small inside - on the positive it does better mpg and the steering is in a different league. On the road theres really nothing between them performance wise. Depreciation will always be bad (mine cost £13k, now worth £10k+ after 6 months) so...
nice motors - I loved my old (yellow!) GT - traffic light grand-prix in the wet was a nightmare though, even got burned off by a 1L Metro once!
Also managed to get just 3k out of the first set of front tyres :o
I have thought about aftermarket ones - but would prefer them as an official option for both resale & insurance purposes. I soooo miss my Recaros from my old Honda.
Any idea when they are likely to be offered Jeremy?

Thought seriously about selling mine recently (had it since April) with the idea of trading up to an STi (which I nearly bought before the 182 in the first place).
Looked carefully at my finances and decided to pay the 182 loan off and pocket my car allowance instead! Depreciation was quite...
I upgraded to the JBLs (there was a £50 for 4 offer discussed on here a while ago), and tbh I cant tell much difference; deffo need to upgrade the headunit first!
Matt
Ive loved my 182 and had not one prob to date - saved me cash too, although I sometimes think I should have bought the Scooby STi that was the alternative at the time!
you have to be careful though - a m8 of mine went into the back of the car in front on the M1 recently as the guy in front of him gave (2 in font if that makes sense) him a brake test for tailgating.
Result - the guy that did the brake test went to court and was prosecuted for dangerous...
7 miles when delivered.
IMO anything up to 50 miles could be delivery (although if they transfer a car from another dealer it could be 100+, and Id expect to be told beforehand!).
