    engine

standard one can be picked up from andyspare or motor factors or renault, got mine from reno for about £20 I think, wish I got uprated one

    Grinding noises

do search on site for clutch self adjuster, follow what it says and this might sort it, as clutch might not be releasing completely, otherwise its box problems, although pretty sure it will be self adjuster as they always play up

when i order from them i just add cliosport member with my membership number in appropriate place, that seems good enough for them, and they stick the discount on, I was puzzled by this first time I ordered from also. What you ordering, anything interesting Alex M

Oil change outsourced due to fat hands!

quick tip for people with big hands doing filter changes on valvers. If you are really stuggling to get filter out (especially if its the bigger one fitted) then undo one of the bolts on the gearbox link (The dogbone) this allows the engine to swing farther and makes it easier to get it out from...

    16v rear brakes

You know I get this with mine, and its generally always the caliper sticking slightly, or first signs of it sticking, if there is no pay from bearing, just take back brakes to bits, clean and reassemble, if sticky caliper it will be the slides rather than the piston that is sticking, aint...

    HELP>SNAPPED FR SUSSPENSION+BALL JOINT!

You should tackle them yourself a neither are too bad to do, would point out the bad bits if you want, let us know, but you would save yourself a fortune as the parts required are fairly cheap!

    K-Tec exhaust - how loud

I got one with decat on the 4 slash cut, vey loud, but like steve says it sounds better after being well warmed up, sounds amazing when gunning it, with a turbo like pop between changes, but can be annoying if you are into listening to music in car, or holding conversation with rear seat...

    B*stard Wheel Nuts!

Siggsy, I have had a least six broken wheel bolts on my valver, all front, Its is cause they are cheap nasty renault ones made from weak alloy, and they are soft. They stretch when you tighten them a little, and then sieze, so when you go to take them off they just shear at the waist caused by...

HELP>HOW DO I GET EMISSIONS DOWN

take it out and give it a real good thrash for about half an hour to an hour, then take it in straight away, dont let her cool down at all, straight onto the machine, with original airbox and she might pass, they are fussy with emissions valvers anyway

    changing brake fluid

steve-rt yeah doing it the old fashioned way, requires a buddy to pump the brakes and also an eye on the level in the reservior, dont let it drop too low, or you will have to do it all again, order to do them is in haynes, but if you aint got manual, you are supposed to start with the brake...

    Couple of 16v questions

Ben H My valver was handling strangely and making a few noises, I got rid of both by changing anti roll bar bushes. Noticed one outer link was gone, replaced them all, and the difference was unbelievable, wouldnt have thought that was the source of my problems, but it was, have a look!

    Radiator Fan

Think BBperformancetuning do a replacement although I dont remember it being particularily cheap, try a scrappies, a 19 16v would be easier to find but not sure if it would fit.

FAO Person having 16v starter problems

Cant remember who it was who was having starter problems like me recently. I took downpipe off (bugger to reseal) got to starter and found the spade connector slightly corroded. Didnt believe it was only that, but didnt have a new starter so cleaned it, and reassembled (thin hands helps). Since...

    Front Wheel Bearing

I would recommend taking the hubs to a garage with a press, they are unlikely to charge more than a tenner for pressing old ones out and new ones in, then go home and reassemble.

    K-Tec big disks

Yeah get some pics James, till we see what they look like. These disc retaining screws never come off, not a big deal to run without them, just be sure wheel nuts are tight.

anybody had this prob. on a 16v

Well after a weekends investigation, I reckon it was a corroded spade conector to starter. Took the downpipe off to have a look see, not a lot of space, to get it out you have to undo gearbox dogbone mount, so as to swing engine and give you space to retract downpipe, total bugger to do. Anyway...

anybody had this prob. on a 16v

Last couple of days starter hasnt always wanted to go, sometimes its fine, but often it clicks or does nothing at all. Anybody had this problem, is a new starter going to be required or is it a wiring fault. Also did I read on here that it is a problem stemming from not having the heatshield at...

    Dodgy wiring on 16v

Will16v coincidently this has just started happening to me this last couple of days, sometimes starter turns, sometimes it clicks, sometimes nothing. Been bumping, but it aint always possible to park on a incline. Gone to have a look to see what the problem is, will keep you posted, let us...

    polysport anti roll bar bushes

sorry I said inner ones clamp to wishbone, which is nonsense they actually are clamped to rear of subframe/cradle. A swinging U shaped piece of metal holds them in place, They pivot at front, with a single 15mm (if i recall correctly)bolt holding them at rear. There aint much room to work (usual...

    polysport anti roll bar bushes

Lofty Unfortunetly the replacement ones are a pain also, What i did with outer drop links is to get a piece of flat wood or metal and vice grips to clamp bolt head tight to upperside of wishbone, so as it will not rise up. Then assemble bottom half in correct order, i.e bush, roll bar end...

    polysport anti roll bar bushes

Recommend this to all 16v owners, replace front anti roll bar links and bushes with uprated ones from Rally Design, cheap upgrade, but you will not believe the difference it can make. Best thing I have done to my valver, whole front end tightens up, handling transformed

    Uniroyal Rainsport

I got rainsports on my clio, 205/45 16s, absolutely dogs b****cks in the wet, and pretty impressive in the dry, especially in such a width on a small light car like the clio. Cant comment on wearablity as aint had them that long( about 2k) but they so seem to produce a lot of road noise. I rate...

    Decatting Power Increase

Ive recently fitted K-Tec exahust with decat, and although I don think car is any quicker, I do feel it is a little more responsive on the pick up. Tom16v comment about it lowering where peaks in the power and torque curves happen is interesting. Would say with a valver getting this is...

Am I in need of a chip

damianshaker, could be interested in your ECU how much you wanting for it anyway. However my valver is a 94M and so good chance its no use to me if there was a change i them, I would need a late ECU would I not, anybody know about this, also can Reno 19 16v ECU go onto a Clio 16v. I really wish...

    BBTuning brouchure

Na I got the catalogue as well, and was very interested in Turbo+just about everything in it, but same as yourself, skinto, but I reckon heads and cams are a possibility when my own finances get a bit more liquid. Cant remember interest rates on finance but it is tempting, a turbod valver would...
