My heatsheild went way of the dodo over a year ago, hasnt given any problems, heat shouldnt really get to brake lines and fluid too much, given they get pretty damn hot anyway, do you all reckon its worth getting a new one just to avoid any future hassles, do the fuel lines come up at the bulkhead
Another White Valver, my own, aint seen another white one before, very nice, clean and original best way to get them

Need to get other photos off my own, only one I have
Yeah I live in Scottish Hebrides, which is about as far away from BBPT as likely, but all stuff I have ordered from them has come within three days, give them a ring if youre stuff still aint appeared. All bits I have ordered have been through website, might be quicker that way!
Yeah thats cool but have you taken of inner one before, Seen what new assembly looks like, with strange locking washer. Dealer told me you destroy old one taking it off, so does this also mean it will be a bugger to free off, and also will rack rotate or is it locked, am I being paranoid, does...
Have taken hubs out and got new bearings pressed in and when my hand was better (buggered it playing football) was going to put it all back together. However have noticed movement in drivers side track rod that is not in rack or on other side ( so must be inner joint, outer one is fine). Dealer...
Outer links are a piece of piss, however inner ones are not so nice, according to haynes you have to remove the downpipe to take off anti roll bar, I have taken downpipe off my valver before (pain in the arse, hard to reseal, although in fairness i had reused old cone). However you can actually...
Mikey, being the lazy bugger that I am, I havent fixed it, in fact not entirely sure where its coming from, I am pretty sure it aint driveshaft seals, so cant really suss where, although I havent looked very hard. They are dead easy to top up and the oil is fairly cheap, so I am just doing that...
I have that leak also, and cant trace it as it seems to be everywhere, I am not bothered about it the now as they are fairly easy to top up anyway. However anybody know where to get a new gearbox, how much from renault or gearbox specialist to supply only
also there does seem to be two differing sizes of oil filter both do the same job, smaller one easier to fit, but big un will go on also, tell your mechanic mate to undo rear gearbox link(looks like a dog bone, undo the one bolt on engine side), then swing engine back to allow oil filter to go...
Yeah mine leaks quite bad, but I keep topping it up every month, and it seems to be lasting, although very slight whine in third, bottom of box is that coated with oil can never see where it comes from, where you get valver box for £450 for future reference, cheers
Taht plastic gaurd covers the gear linkage on gearbox, it pops off by hand and will be full of oil, you got a box leak, mine does it and its very hard to suss where exately it is coming from, check the level in your box
I was thinking driveshaft and hub are going to be a pain to seperate, since they probably aint been apart before, and I have a paranoia about poping driveshaft out of gearbox by accident while I am screwing around with outer part, will have a go the morrow, see how I get on
I got them on my valver, didnt notice a difference but they can be relied on more. I changed them cause one of my original flexys failed an MOT. Dead easy to fit ASSUMING you can get all the unions to undo, they are famous for seizing, soak in WD40 a few times before hand, even the day before...
Gone to tackle new front wheel bearings as soon as I get a chance, I know to get them pressed out/in the hubs rather than bash them out/in. Ive done ball joints on front before so have stripped a little front end, but not removed hubs, anybody done this, is there any hasslesome parts (i.e...
I dont think they are particularily tough either, going to investigate 19 diesel box, think the problem is although it fits no bother, not sure if the gearing will be ideal. Box oil does honk, I spilt all 3.5 litres of drained gearbox oil onto my garage floor by accident, place still stinks of it
I got a K-Tec system and decat, bloody loud but sounds sh*t hot when changing gear whilst motoring as car gives a loud single pop between changes, had loads of people asking was it turbo as they seem to mistaking it for a dump valve, I have to say unfortunetly its not though
Yeah they do seem to go better if use ease in full throttle, I am also convinced my car pulls best with pedal just off the floor rather than on the deck. If you drive on only the small throttle they are actaully damn good on fuel, surprising, but hard to do, its too tempting to boot it
Think Renault 19 Diesel boxes fit and they might be a bit tougher due to extra torque from diesel engine, not 100% sure but pretty sure they do, a lot easier to find as well. Think valver boxes suffer if they run low on oil, check it often, and refill with good quality oil of correct grade, its...
I reckon standard valver mounts are pish, aint tried uprated hillpower gearbox one, but if its even marginally better, its worth it. I have changed all the mounts at once with genuine reno ones, and its not long before it feels like they are worn again. Paid 140 squid for all three from Reno...
Na disagree raising a valver to 7800 limit will not make your engine wear out quicker, assuming everything else is sound. Given the nature of the engine it is not really that much higher and manufacturers are understandably super safe when it comes to these things. Perhaps prolonged spells above...
Get back to the garage, that is not acceptable, dont repay for changing gasket again, offer to pay for any secondary problems, I.e what was causing gasket to go, but not for changing gasket again, even better demand your doh back and go to a garage who can be arsed doing it properly. It is...
Usually go for Uniroyal Rainsports 1 as they are decent in dry, but exceptionaly on damp and soaked roads. Also found Avon Turbospeeds quite a good cheap summer tyre, superb grip and long lasting considering they must have quite a soft compund to get that grip. Yokos good but wear quickly in my...
na an extra 500rpm wont harm it and given valvers characteristics, it is worth having them, they are dead revvy and even though power tails off up there it doesnt dissappear completly, allowing you to hold that cog a wee bitty longer. Willys aint so fond of the revs being a longer stroke motor...
Cheers, although its a sh*te pic, she can look really good after a wash and a polish, although I am a fan of Clio 16vs before I am a fan of white cars, will not get a white car again, silly wee mustek G-Smart 2 camera, nobody buy one as they are exceptionally fussy with lighting and have no...
Sadly only pic I have of my Clio on my computer, need to address this prob with a few better pic, keep meaing to send some into gallery
