I did try and read http://www.cliors-concept.com/t23288...-plastique.htm that thread, but unfortunately I didn't exactly listen in French class at school! Does he just sell the Rikus' brackets, or does he do the modified callipers and discs too?
Silver 182 in the middle lane doing about 80 on the M4 westbound tonight (Thursday) around 8:45pm. Was in between J8 and J9 IIRC. I was the black 182 overtaking you :).
Perhaps I should of worked in french at school! :( All means nothing to me!
Is doing just Rikus' brackets, or does he do the modified callipers and discs too?
 So they're just looking up in a database of losses what a previous car made on a bench dyno vs the rolling road? Surely unless you have the same gearing, wheel diameter, tyres and pressures as the base car then this is gonna be pretty inaccurate!
Doing proper coast down losses is soo...
Blow up the tyres and run in a lower gear FTW :D.
Dynodynamics is twin roller IIRC? The argument is that 2 rollers 'pinching' the wheel can cause additional drag which reduces the WHP figure, but using a coast down this drag can be then included in the transmission loss estimate to produce a...
TBH whether it's needed or not, the next time mine needs disc/pads on the front I'll be tempted by a set of 4pots. I know there's other kits available (and I've used Wilwoods on another car), but because I'm a brand ***** if I were to get 4pots I'd be wanting Brembos :rasp:.
I guess this is just reading out all the sensors like the RSTuner does. Looks cool being wireless though!
Does anyone have a recommended Bluetooth/Wireless OBD adapter and iPad/iPhone app?
It's like those garage door openers from a couple of years back... it's a set of parking sensors that just happens to jam mobile speed cameras.
The problem with them is that they're rectangular fag-packet size units, rather than the traditional circular parking sensors, so it's pretty obvious...
No I'm not female :p. And yes I can park the 182 perfectly fine. Now that's out of the way...
I did find the other day that I nearly forgot that it doesn't have sensors though, because all our other cars have them I guess I kinda got used to them! Has anyone ever retrofitted them to a Clio...
Since I folded down the seats a couple of weeks ago, I've got a rattle when going over bumps. It's from the rear somewhere, and I think is on the drivers side. Starting to annoy me now :(.
Has anyone successfully done this yet?
I fancy a set of Brembos (don't really care whether they're 197/200/Megane/Twingo ones) and Noos's Megane 225 full set (calipers + 300mm 2 piece floating disc + brackets) looks perfect...
:(
At least the car did it's job and kept the occupants OK. From what I've read these seem to hold up pretty well in crashes :).
I'll be the first of the vultures to say yes please to a PM of the salvage yard :o.
http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/renault_clio_renaultspt_trophy182 for anyone...
Tried chasing down Dad in the Westfield. I lost :(. Guess it shouldn't be a surprise given that he's got 500BHP/Tonne.
Washed it, and cried about the wheel I curbed last week.
Hmm, I hadn't thought about that.
Would 87W Extra Load be that much different to 83V to ruin the ride quality?
Equally, is 87W Extra Load that much different to 83V that I need to bother matching them? I've unknowingly been running mismatched with 3x83V and 1x87W Extra Load since I got the...
So some of my tyres need replacing, and of-course I'm going to be keeping all four the same brand/model. The one tyre with by far the most tread (5mm and consequently staying!) is an 87W Extra Load, however I understand that the standard tyres they came out the factory with were 83V and that's...
Bristol Shell (2.4 miles from M4 J19): Participating, so 141.9 instead of 144.9.
Bath Shell (3 miles from M4 J18): Not participating, so still 154.9.
Yes that's not a typo, Bath Shell is normally 10p/litre more expensive than Bristol Shell.
Not heard anything about this before!
Those 500s are actually pretty good! Remember seeing Cassey Watson thrashing her Trofeo Abarth 500 around Castle Combe a while ago. :hail:
Have you tried Admiral Multicar?
This is where you have "one policy" for all the households cars, all the paperwork gets sent to one person, all the money comes off of one credit card, one renewal date for the whole lot, etc. But, importantly, each car is treated separately. Each car has it's...
Other than when a dodgy brake light switch killed the ESP, I don't think I've ever turned it off :o. Even then though in bone dry conditions every time I pulled out a junction it would just spin the wheels.
Maybe I've just got a heavy right foot? :p
Ragged it across country down loads of lanes last night in the rain, completely filthy now. Nearly lost the splitter at one point and nearly got stuck in the mud in a farm yard at another point.
ESP kept kicking in every time I put the power down so methinks a visit to Mr Quaife might be...
