    Gearbox Models

Sorry, probably not the first time this has been asked, but I'm finding conflicting answers! So I know that 172 gearboxes use the circlip whereas 182 gearboxes have the diff bolted, and that the phase 1 172 and the 172 cup have a speed sensor integrated into the box, whereas the 182 the speedo...

    More Issues with dodgy maps!

Other than pricing (which can be justified by convenience, warranty, pretty website, etc.) the only issues I've ever hear of with the Dorset based company is Mapping. Other tuning (but mapped elsewhere), workshop, services, parts etc I haven't heard a bad word said about them. And I've used...

    More Issues with dodgy maps!

I have to say the list of people I would trust to map my F4R is pretty damn short!

    JMS RS2 intake manifold

These were very interesting. I always thought they were a great idea, just a shame about the high cost... but understandable for the first production run as no doubt JMS had a lot of R&D money to make back on the initial batch. But if now they were to be produced in volume at a better price...

Renault engine tuners in the South

Yep Timsbury, Frank's on an industrial estate there. Top bloke, and his workshop's pretty cool .

Renault engine tuners in the South

I don't know if he's done Renault's before, but I'd highly recommend Frank Anderson of Anderson Racing Engines in Timsbury (Bath) for his work on Zetecs.

    Kwik-Fit Oil Change,hillsborough sheffield

I would trust my mother to change the oil on my car before getting Kwik Fit to do it!

What have you done to your car today ???

Walked past it on the driveway. Went out to play in the other car. AWD + "Snow Mode" + Winter tyres = rather good :D

Stealthy clio is no more.. Head on crash :(

I'm quite impressed at how much of the engine is still under the bonnet and how the cockpit hasn't been invaded too much. Certainly better than Saxos etc where the engine crushes your knees!

Stealthy clio is no more.. Head on crash :(

Blimey, glad you're OK! Hopefully insurance will be OK with it all. I know I've felt safer before when out in the racecar than in my 182 on the public roads... might be tempted to do some safety mods to it now!

    Injector Fault

As above, I read the error codes to identify which injector it was, and then confirmed it was the correct injector by unplugging the electric multiplug from it and noticing that the engine note didn't change (i.e. the injector I unplugged was indeed dead). I then replaced the injector with a...

    Trophy/V6 Boot Struts

http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts/car-boot-tailgate/jaguar/gsc1510-jaguar-x-type-bonnet-strut I guess? Though won't more lift mean spoiler hitting roof?

    Trophy/V6 Boot Struts

Thanks for the SGS link! Is that the right BMW part on SGS? I just noticed that they actually list a part for the Clio Trophy and it has the same part number as the Renault part... but it's £2 more than the BMW part linked :p.

What have you done to your car today ???

Took the small plate off, put big plate on, MOTd it, took big plate off, put small plate back on. Looks even better with no plate...

    Trophy/V6 Boot Struts

Currently I've got genuine Renault Trophy/V6 boot struts... but unfortunately as they're 12 years old they're going soft so struggle to hold it open and I've had the boot gently come down on me whilst loading before! I asked Wests Renault for a quote, but unfortunately they want £206.26 each...

    Big brakes using Renault parts?

Yeah if I was to ever do it I'd be going 300mm too. Whilst expensive, those two piece floating discs that Rikus sold looked well nice!

    Bonnet Support

+1 if someone works out a bracket that doesn't look too bodgey!

    Exhaust Noise Levels

So there's eleventy million different exhausts available for the 182, but I was looking for a definitive list of them noise wise. IMHO for a road car there's two noises you care about, drone at 80MPH cruising on the motorway (which is bad), and 2. rasp when revving it (if you don't like that...

 :( When my OEM finally rusts away I fancy a BTB one on my 182!

    197 Cams in a ph1 172

I thought I read that the RS2 only worked well with the stock 1*2 cams, and that any other cams it was rubbish with?
