Yeah the all-important NCB is what you need. Remember to tell your insurance about any mods, otherwise you might as well not have it etc etc (sorry, someone had to say it - your choice of course)
It looks wrong.... but it'll sound wronger. You can imagine it can't you - got 'da laydeez' there, ready for that V6 burble to prove the driver's wang is in fact the 6 feet he claims it is... and then the little 1.2 fires up. Larf.
Yeah I hear there are a few good 'uns in Cheshire. But it's so annoying when their ad says 'good condition for year' for a 4 year old car and you get there and it's pretty much completely held together with gaffer tape.
Not if you don't want them.... ;)
Nah, not for me at all. They won't do the job any better than the ordinary ones really, and £850 is my insurance plus a swanky weekend in Prague lol.
Yeah pretty much my sentiments. If only the 197 could lose 200kg without losing any quality I'd have my name on the order sheets faster than you could say 'just buy a used one.'
Tested a couple of Fiat 500s today, the 1.4 and the diesel. When I got back into my 182 three things that I'd almost forgotten about occurred to me straight away.
1: How heavy the clutch is
2: How bloody good the engine is
3: What an effing crap position the gearstick is in lol
That's all...
Eh?? I'd like to see a video of that. And I'd also like to see a spirit level on the road ;) lol only kidding, if you reckon it does it in 9.5 then great stuff.
Out of 73 Liquid Yellow 182s registered in this country, 59 had cup suspension and 59 had the cup spoilers. I wonder if every LY has both cup packs, then, or if some had one and some had the other, and it's just the numbers that are coincidental.
Going across the bridge heading towards the town centre (tesco, the bed shop etc). I was in a pale blue Fiat 500 in the turn-right lane to go down past Matalan.
Orate piers, there's a guy in Penrith with an absolute minter who's gonna be looking at getting rid in a few months at latest. PM me and I'll give you his details, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear from you.
Just the most fun car for the cash. Wanted a 197 really, but couldn't afford it so I had a go in a 182 and was amazed how much more manic it was. I was hooked.
Well the computers might be out anyway. 145 miles in mine costs about £22, but on motorways the computer eventually reads (after about 145-150 miles, funnily enough) 40mpg. However, a few people on here claim to be getting high 30s in mixed driving... and I don't see how that's doable!
Re: Yorkshire Meet 17-02-08
Good turnout! Someone even brought a pushchair! Getting the kids involved from a young age, eh? Make sure they're petrolheads? ;)
That's a good idea actually, scrounging gits. ;) Although the only time I've had passengers in the back there was 3 of them, and I don't think any of them want to repeat the experience... bit cramped, y'see...
That's a smart looking Clio! But... have you actually stripped out the back seats of a 1.2....? Guess some people will do anything for that bona-fide 2-seater coupe feel ;)
Well at least you're alive and have the use of your fingers. Could you tell there was something wrong with the back end then? Did you just not do anything about it cos you couldn't afford to? If that's the case it's a sad fact that (at least for now) you should think about a cheaper-to-run car...
Got to recommend PE2s. Loads of grip, they compliment the chassis well and they're lasting pretty well. £90 a tyre isn't too bad either, especially when you consider that's from my local independent garage.
If driving like a grandma means only overtaking when I can actually see that I'm not going to have a close encounter of the 'front of an artic' kind, then hell yes, I drive like a grandma and I'm fricking proud of it.
No offence intended in that post so don't misunderstand me, but the petrol zetec S is a much better option than the diesel in terms of fun because even with the 107PS power upgrade the diesel is too slow and dull. At least being able to rev the pants off the petrol makes it feel fast and...
Eh? Well if you just want straight line speed then you're never gonna get thrills in this sector of the market. However.... if you want thrills round the corners you can either go for the 'only' 98bhp fiesta with a sorted chassis, sporty looks and effing superb suspension that allows you to go...
