I've been trying to find a few replacement clips but as some are missing I'm unsure what Im looking for.
I want the scuttle cover clips that go into the to wings for the scuttle to push down onto and the turn screw ones that hold the s. cover to the bulk head. I'm also looking for the grille...
As in the title really, my radiator fan comes on on start up and runs permanently, what might be causing this, the fuse box seems to have quite a few more empty slots than my 182 ever did.
I've bought this car HF02 XAM, it's got some funny goings on under the bonnet, like brackets missing odd routing of cables etc so I'm trying to do a bit of background research on it.
Does anyone know it or know of any previous owners?
New 172 and now all the problems are coming out of the woodwork, neither of my wing mirrors are moving would i be right in thinking it would possibly suggest the control is dead or a loose connection?
Also heater blower only has one speed which searching on here looms like the resistor at...
I've just bought a flame red 172 after a bit of searching, it's not the tidiest example I'm sure but it will keep me entertained bringing it back up to scratch.
It has cliosport stickers so I'm guessing a previous owner may still be on here or some one may know this car?
So I think I've found a 172 in flame red that I'm going to view tomorrow, what do you think I could try getting it for as it's up for £1600?

Trying to do a split abs ring but the passenger side splined shaft is well stuck in the hub, tried smacking it but with a 4lb lump hammer it will not budge. Any tips short of draining the gearbox and taking the shaft out to get it pressed out?

I think I put this in the wrong section before but basically my 182 has just gone into limp mode with some odd symptoms.
With the ignition on it looks like the first photo them once started the second photo. It won't rev above 3k is a little hesitant to start and the rad fan comes on...
My abs ring has been cracked for a while now and just not got round to fixing it but yesterday it went into limp mode with the traction control light on, the engine management light and the stop light.
Could this be related to the abs ring?

Been refreshing the suspension on my 182 and noticed the trailing arms are a bit grotty, short of total removal what do you guys do to halt rust? I've thought of just a wire brushing and Acf50 or just wiping over with old engine oil. Is that a bit of a naff idea?

Basically my 182 has failed the mot for a leaking rear shock and cracked rear eibach sportline spring.
I've got the standard cup pack springs and shocks in my garage so would just putting them on the rear be ok until I can get hold of some more just to get it through the mot which has expired...
Not driven my 182 for about two weeks and went to start it to take for an MOT but it just clicks and the esp and serv light comes on, not even trying to turn over.

Done my wishbones today, pretty rusted up so it was a nightmare and ruined a ball joint pinch bolt. Do I need to get 4 wheel alignment done or is regular alignment acceptable?

Think I've asked this before but has anyone ever gone from a 182 to vw transporter 102bhp? I know it will be horrible but I really need a van and would like some positive feedback, 0-60 in 18 seconds suppose it can be remapped for a bit more power and when up and running may not be too bad.
My ball joints have got a bit of movement that im hoping is what is giving me squirmy handling, is it still a case of replacing the whole wishbone (78k 182 on originals) or just do the ball joints if I can find them separately ?
Is a worn mount causing my 182 to jerk when lifting of the throttle? The engine doesnt seem to move about much if revved when stationary but i wonder if its the gearbox mount. If I didnt have man flue Id investigate it but just wondered everyones thoughts
Ive got the usual problem of sloppy steering, I've personally done the rack bushes, inner and outer track rod ends, new tyres and had tracking done.
To me it seems the uj in the footwell is worn and on my old 1.8 16v clio I welded it up which transformed it. Can this be done on a 182?

I've missed my auxiliary belt change which should have been last year (4 years and 32k since last) do I just get the cambelt done while it's being done. Seems like the sensible thing considering I would have to travel 2.5 hrs to get it done at Diamond Motors unless anyone knows of someone closer...
Could the dodgy connection where my steering wheel radio control plugs into the back of the radio also be affecting my lack of radio display and the intermittent playback of my ipod and cd player? REEAALLY BEGINNING TO CHEESE ME OFF.
My ball joints look pretty rough and I was going to replace them before getting my tracking done having just put new inner tie rods and ends on.
Is it likely that the wishbone bushes are shot as well at 71k?
