172 Cup - Manual bias valve?

  Clio 200 Cup
I'm thinking about fitting a manual bias valve to my 172 Cup, in a bid to get the rear brakes working a bit more. They seem to do absolutely sod all at the moment, and Im sick of fitting new discs because the old ones have gone rusty (4 sets in 2 and a half years)

Am I playing with fire if I fit a manual bias valve?

not at all, go for it, not as easy to do as it sounds though

i've got one on the Dynacup, brilliant to be able to adjust it as you go :D

Thanks Fred, always good to get an encouraging response.

Is it a single brake line running to the back?

If its two lines, can I common them up before the bias valve, and then split after the valve to feed each rear caliper?

I was figuring on re-directing the rear brake line inside the car via the front bulkhead, and back out through the back of the rear footwell. This should allow me to mount the bias valve next to the drivers seat somewhere.

How did you do it Fred?

i've got a different master clyinder, but yeah that'll do it, i'd bin the OE rear bias valve though as it won't work with that in

This seems like a good idea... where you getting the parts from?

what master cylinder you using on the Dynacup Fred?

I'll buy a Wilwood or AP Racing bias valve from somewhere like Burton Power, then its just your usual copper pipe and fittings which you can get from most decent motor factors.

mini-valver

I'm using a compbrake. Has your mater cylinder got 2 or 4 outlets?

If its 2, you'll have 1 for the rear which will wplit at the axle to each brake. Pull he single feed into the car, into the bias valve, back out and to he original T. If you have 4, blank one off and do as above with the single line but you'll need to put your own T at the axle.
