i thought that aswell, but elephant just told me "a wide range of companies accept the bonus accelerator bonus". I took this to mean that not everyone did? I might do that then if everywhere accepts it.

its a "bonus accelerator" scheme, so you get your years no claims bonus after the 10months. however only certain insurance companies take it as a years ncb; elephant, admiral and probably some others

the valver has just been HPi cleared :D so going to look at it 2nite. Apparantly its completely rust free and everything actually works in it aswell! My only query with the HPi check is that it said the reg plates were changed on the 03/09/1993, which is exactly the same date as the car was...
