Fitted a new bonnet, not perfect but much better than my faded, dented and scratched one and free too!
Replaced the rearview mirror, I took the old one off by popping the ball joint out - easy I thought! However refitting the old one without pulling the rain sensor apart to get the arm out...
Love a flamer! Mine was in a state when I got it in November, slowly but surely I'm getting it to a point that I can say it's pretty tidy.
Is your bonnet not fully shut or does it have the standard dodgy catch?
I always thought of the Fabia splitter as a poor alternative but £15 as opposed to £100 odd was the clincher. To be honest once fitted they are a nice little mod and £80 left to burn on beer
I've changed the gearbox oil today and noticed some previous bumpy has fitted the lower gearbox mount upside down!
Removing it looks like a right b#####d
Haha! Kermit the Van has hit the nail on the head! I'mstressed and distracted...by my persistent Renault troubles.

I want to remove as much as possible and treat it and was thinking along the lines of Deox gel, hydrate 80 then spray with either electrox or an...
Have to wonder what the insides of that silver 172s engine looks like, unless it's been regularly turned over surely the surfaces would drain of oil and condensate even in a temperature controlled environment
Can anyone tell me whether the cable from the drivers side door switch connects into the passenger side or if they both terminate in the uch plug?
Thanks in advance
I thought the crank sensor would cause it to be hard to start rather than rough after.
My 172 had similar symptoms which ended up being a poor precat lambda plug connection, started fine ran ok until the ECU adjusted the fuel 02 mix I guess, then ran rough and would die after 2 mins or so. Try...
