I'm not on about the track rod ends or the locking nut for the ends if there is any confusion.
I have got to replace the actual rods as the inner ball joints are worn.
Supposedly there is a washer that goes between the ball joint thread and the rack?
Also are the flats on the rack to grip...
Yeah perfect service as usual mate
yeah is says in my haynes manual that that is a locking washer between the tie rod and rack that needs to be replaced??
Maybe its different as I think other clio's have electric rack's?
Am changing my track rods this weekend and have just read about a locking washer that goes between the rod and the rack. How important is it that these are replaced?
Yeah it does i'm just wondering:
a) how tight its going to be
b) whats the best tool to get in there!
The gaitor will be removed very carefully for reuse!!
Sky were a great bunch to deal with, there original quote was not cheaper than my renewal but the excess was half the price. When they asked me my renewal price they went away and comeback with an other price that was lower and still with the low excess.
Need to remove my track rods this weekend whilst the rack is on the car. Are there any good tools for the job?
Also doing the lower ball joint so what tool do I need for that?
Cheers
Having seen a dephaser pulley in pieces I cant see how it would fail and as far as i'm aware none ever have. I drove mine for about 6k but it didn't sound as bad as yours.
I would think it would be ok, just drive it sensibly however i'm sure some will disagree.
