I still cant decide!! Test drove a Cooper S Works today, bugger me was that fast!! Abit pricey though.
I think its either gonna be a 172 or CTR.
The Cup was great fun but i want ABS to be safe. Its saved me many times in my VTS!
I dont know how some people afford to run 2 cars?? You allready have a CTR and now you want a Cup?!! You must have a bloody good job thats all i can say!
Thanks for all the replies people, very much appricated. I really dont know what to do! I just test drove a 172 Cup and loved it! But i want a 172 cos of the comforts. The saleman said its noticebly slower:(
Thanks alot for the replies people! The Golf R32 is abit too expensive for me really and ive heard the handling is sh*t? I also want a brand new car. Im thinking about a Leon Cupra R 225 or maybe even a Type-R? Their not brash and seem fairly smooth.
Ermmmm..... Scoobys are hardly refined are they! Or Evos for that matter. An Audi would be nice but Clio V6 are about £27,000 arent they?! A 2004 172 is out of the Question though.
I currently own a Y reg Saxo VTS which ive had two years of great fun in but its time for a change. Performance is a must but so is build quality and refinement.
My budget is £16-20k.
Cos the 1.9 was too powerful for its own good and suffered alot of torque steer. I think the 1.6 had 97 ib/ft of torque but the 1.9 had a mighty 119 ib/ft in a car that weighed about 900 kg!!
Sorry but i disagree. Have you driven both a VTS and 106 GTi??? I own a MK2 VTS which has superb suportive seats, nicely balanced handling and fine steering feel. My mate has an X reg 106 GTi which i drive regularly, the seats LOOK better cos their leather but when driving they dont give more...
Ermmmm...... since when has the VTS had 130 bhp?!!!! I think your find the VTS handles just as well mate, its been proved in several track tests. Ive driven a 106 GTi and found it much the same as my VTS but abit softer and more forgiving, you can live on the edge more in the VTS but get it...
The 106 doesnt have better tweaks to it. If you read magazine reviews your find that the VTS is a more focused car offering more bite due to its wider rubber and larger wheels but the 106 is more forgiving. In the right hands, the VTS is a tad quicker around a track proved in the recent Autocar...
I would hope he chose blue, the silver cup is a joke! I thought the idea of the cup was that it was a rare car like the 106 and 306 Rallye? In silver it looks just like a 172.
