this is what puts me off the Clio 172, i dont trust Renault.

AX GT had 1.4 carb engine with 85 bhp AX GTi had 1.4 injection engine 75 bhp 110 bhp! LOL!

Im thinking of taking the jump and buying a 172 but what i want to know is, what have standard 172s got on rolling roads??? I hear there are bad and good 172s about? I dont want to buy a new 172 that doesnt perform as it should.

Watch out for rust, their terrible for it. Also check the gear box is ok cos their like a tractor box! Fun cars though, rapid little beasts. May only have 75-85 bhp but they weigh 700 kg!!!!!

Im gonna try Michelin Pilot Sport next, i drive hard all the time so a medium compound would be a good compromise between grip and life.

Clio 1.6 16v- 110 bhp, 0-60 in 9.5, 0-100 in 32 secs. Corsa 1.8 16v - 123 bhp, 0-60 in 8.0, 0-100 in 23.5 secs Corsa will piss it im affraid :(

Thats the indicated speedo reading though, Renault quote 138 mph, thats probally what you were doing due to speedo error.

But the Cup is insurance group 16 and the VTS is group 14??????? What?! I may go and order the Cup later on today, not sure.
