I must admit I did feel slightly daft taking pictures on the side of the road. Something I've not done since my 'yoof' ( me being an ancient 28 ).
I did it partly because people don't believe I ever use this car except on track.....and then the traffic, s**t roads and other numpty road users...
A lesser spotted Cup is mine these days, appearing on roads every other full moon, track day outing or for mechanical fettling. Not as picture whored or as well documented as the FailTrophy or the Nick172 Cup but no less capable (i will argue). On this occasion I thought I'd take some pics to...
Glad to see the Cup is still going strong mate. Was half expecting a vid of you going round in that bloody Suzuki again...;)
Goodwood is right on my doorstep but ive never been compelled to do a day there for some reason!
Insurance companies will do their very best to find a reason NOT to pay out. If there is any sort of legal issue in terms of a car being unroadworthy, the claimant being uninsured themselves or any one of a gazillion other issues then the insurance company will make it very difficult for said...
Sod paying out and not going the insurance route. I'd put money on him either not having a policy or having a dodgy car. Giving a false name rings alarm bells.
Pursue the insurance route and make sure the inspecting assessor is uber thorough. I'd want to see valid insurance docs, an MOT...
Fair point TBH. I think the way to do it is you get the entire cost from everyone at the START and those who don't pay (or get subbed) don't play (means im gonna have to sort my s**t out and it means Tom will be missing for months ;)).
So are we playing this week or doing a list for next week?
That scratch on the wing is too deep to be polishable I'm afraid. Anything you can get your nail in will be down to the basecoat.
In terms of costs, I hate to scare you but for a decent finish you are looking at more than £200. The reason being that you'll almost certainly need to blend to get a...
Further proof that Evo and subsequently Impreza drivers seem to think the way around a track day is to barge their way through the traffic.
And yes, I do track days and yes they do drive like that. Funnily enough they seem amazing around Coombe but they get in the way around Brands....must be...
I think it depends on if you prefer looking at your reflection in a shop window (458) over enjoying the car for is dynamic ability (MP4).
That's not to say the Fezza is bad to drive of course but I'd definitely prefer the Mac.
Well I'm only quoting what I heard Tom say. I don't pay that much attention to be honest.
Anyway it makes more sense to bolt this kit on rather than ponce around searching for the Cup parts to replace the 182 bits.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Because its not just a simple swap from an A/C setup to the Cup setup. I forget why but im told its a ballache.
Plus Dave likes the shiny bits he now has with the delete kit.....the tart.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
A JMS Last minute.com evening was had by all, but as ever, all came good. Personally i blame it all on Luke and his DIY mechanical fail. ;)
Im interested to know how the hell Tom got on this morning. Driving to the Alps with pretty much...
Sod that. Just turn right and walk the 100 yards to the Kingfisher! But then I am thinking along the "closest place i can get drunk" lines. Not really useful if you need to drive home.....
How much work are you having done?
We play every Tuesday evening at 9pm. Cost varies depending on how many turn up but it's usually 2-3 quid each.
Hopefully Dave has booked this week!

Of course he won't. He'll just keep driving it looking like a ditch with trophy stickers on until I get so annoyed that I'll attack with a Karcher. It's his usual ploy.
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
I thought my sparkies were knackered, and James said they were the worst he's seen as they had done 72k, but yours.......man im suprised you didn't need 1.21 gigawatts to make those buggers spark!
And i guess when you say 'I' that means...
I strongly disagree. Compared to Nicks Cup i feel you'd be rather embarassed. You'd probably keep up but he'd teach you an interesting lesson about power to weight. Seriously, if you can deal with the lack of sound deadening and the 4x4 look you'll be pleasantly suprised.
For performance "add...
Cracking stuff! If it wasn't for that gearbox issue I'd have said you'd have been in the top ten. Nice bit of hunting down to nab that Nova on the last lap as well.
I suppose it depends on how you like the car to behave. Mine isn't my daily and is only used on the weekend and/or track work. Its not highly breathed upon at all. A few choice tweaks means it makes a healthy 177bhp which doesn't sound alot but its stripped out (although not entirely) goes like...
