Its a dodgy connection I'm 100% sure. He probably just grabbed any line with voltage on it.....
i was hard wiring an extensions onto clock display in a 182 before and getting the connections wrong, causes the display to do funny things.lol.
I think the ecu has resorted back to standard, as it has only started messing up and drinking petrol in last few weeks. So plan is standard injectors so far.:)
Then nice gentle drive to pmurray, put boost upto 1 bar and have 300 horsies!
Glad to hear that, hope you have some forgiving neighbours this time round.
I was thinking about the previous comments about mapping for a good cold start and idle, would it be worthwhile me travelling up on a friday night, dropping car off at yours and start mapping from cold on the saturday...
Sounds good. Could you explain a bit of it to me?
I thought the cold start map controls the car using feedback from sensors and you couldnt change any of the variables. Whereas at say half throttle it goes into open loop and uses the map, to lookup values.
Is this correct?
Thanks for all the useful advice. But I am leaving it in the hands of a local tuners to take on the work. They have advised me to fit standard injectors, get it through the mot, then go and see pmurray or go for standalone or piggy back.
They dont think dropping the fuel pressure will help...
Well if you can get 300bhp out of this engine I'll be there! I just got paid so could come up one of the weekends if you are still free.
I'm trying to source some smaller injectors to get me through the mot....hope it works.
It's scary when it happens. I had this happen to me, although I am guilty of once or twice not checking the mirror right before i pull out.
good post, if it helps one person then it's worth it.:)
I am still waiting from a response from bbpt, not holding my breath. Just weighing up the options.
As a remap is gonna cost me £300 plus petrol. Chasing the cause of the problem may cost me a few quid. But getting standalone management will sort the car out the way it should be and run 300bhp+...
thoughts please? And what would be a good price setup on a rolling road?
Place next door to my work have quoted less than 1500, they tune mainly jap stuff, but I think they can do the work quite well.
my clutch and gearbox are 15k miles old since conversion, (with 45k on gearbox!) and after a recent gearbox oil change the gears slide in very smoothly! The clutch still bites very hard, probably more down to the driver though, as I never abuse it from a standstill.
It's going into the garage tomorrow and not coming out untill its fixed...
Might be a good time to try the omex? Can get it fully setup on rolling road for under 1500.
I tried that way round, but they said email them.lol.
Is the regulator on the pump adjustable? I'll have a look tonight i think.:)
I guess my cat is the same as yours too, a janspeed one same as ktec?
