have you wired up an aftermarket stereo or something similiar and tapped into a earth wire behind the dash. there is an earth wire behind the dash which if it is tapped into can affect the ecu. it causes the idle speed to stay at 1500rpm after youve floored it and let it idle.
if you want a noticable amount of lowering then the k-tec ones are ok. they say they lower 30mm but the springs are actually apex ones and on there site it says they lower up to a 40mm drop using there springs.
you say youve used the old pipe. that may be your problem. bin the old pipe and route a viper cold air feed pipe to the front of the car somewhere so it gets a good supply of cold air. do a search as there have been many pics posted about routing of air pipes before.
as weight says the filler neck goes to the reserve tank. the main fuel tank is easy enough to change but the reserve one is even easier as its only held on by a few bolts.
