how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

And this doesn't happen with most models on every forum? Williams, V6, Trophy, Ph1... Caterham? Okay.

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

:lolup:All anyone has basically said is that ABS is not crucial in order to stop a car. Judging by the amount of posts you have written, I think it will be you that's up late on the interwebz.

    re-mapable deisel?

Fair enough. I didn't buy my car for the track, so whatever is faster there doesn't interest me. Tracks are all about the driver and their ability. A couple of seconds printed in a magazine means nothing to someone with average ability. Didn't the diesel Seats win lots of touring car...

    can you remap a 1.4 16v clio?

An induction kit will make it sound better, which is cheap. It gives the engine a bassier, beefier sound.

    can you remap a 1.4 16v clio?

That's the point, I don't think he will be happy with increases. He'll not notice a whole lot. Stripping it makes sense though.

    can you remap a 1.4 16v clio?

I reckon you'll be lucky to see an increase of 12hp with these mods.

    re-mapable deisel?

They can handle it as long as it's not been abused and hasn't done a million miles. Anything above 200 & 300 and it would be an upgrade.

    re-mapable deisel?

Interior put me off in these. Good cars though.

    re-mapable deisel?

At least you let him know! A lot don't. People be crazy. Did you cancel as you'd bought the 172? Did you test any diesels?

    re-mapable deisel?

I know, they run out of revs super quick but that's because the power and torque arrives so early but they have 6 gears. They already out-drag 1*2's in a quarter mile, so remapping will make a considerable difference. And they actually rev round to 5k quite easily, although power has gone by...

    anyone got a 182 with over 200bhp.

£6000 pounds for approx 70bhp...what a complete waste of cash!! (IMO) It will also increase your insurance a fair whack, I would think and fuel costs will jump. I'm sure it's fun and all but I can think of much better fun to be had for £6K, cars included.

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

Exactly! Maybe if it wasn't available, people would drive better/safer?
  13. G

    re-mapable deisel?

Should be getting mine done shortly. Should be good for approx 200bhp and 300 torques, so an increase of around 35bhp and 50lbs/ft of torque. Clio killer!

    1.6 to a DCI 80

It's quite funny at times when the person behind thinks the car is broken and backs off.

    1.6 to a DCI 80

Be your own man and drive what you want, dude! Diesels are not to be sniffed at, as people are never too sure what they are running. As they can be cheaply modded with large increases, they can be stealthy weapons. You should be able to get an 80 mapped to around 100bhp with a healthy...

    anyone got a 182 with over 200bhp.

Loads of Clios are now running upwards of 200bhp but it ain't cheap!

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

I'll take the Cup, thanks! Although, I'd prefer it to be standard.
  18. G

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

Exactly. And it's not a waste of a car either.
  19. G

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

I saw 30mpg (just) in my 3.0 BMW. A 2.0 should be good for mid 30's with mixed driving, imo. Suppose it depends on how tuned the engine is and the driving of course.

how different is a 172cup to drive versus 182?

It's funny all the people who think the lack of ABS is just outright dangerous! How did we ever manage for the past 100 years without it? Or did every car before ABS was invented find a bush or wall as soon as the there was reason to brake? I had my Cup for 5 years and locked the brakes once...

    The new motor.....

Actually, it is quite subtle looking. Maybe I've just seen too many chavved up versions. They do sound nice!

    It's Autumn btw.

    Liquid yellow 182?????????

I don't think cars should be available in these colours unless they circa 500hp and have a prancing horse on the front or similar. However, the 182 does look quite nice in LY. Orange ST looks gash!

    The new motor.....

Looks tidy but too chav these days, imo. Enjoy!

    Rep Mobiles > 1*2?

LOL...and how many 5 piece suits are hanging in the back. That's where the torque pays off!
  26. G

    Rep Mobiles > 1*2?

The 170 Golf is rapid! I was looking at these so managed to get a drive in one. It would have no problem with a Cliosupersport. However, they are not worth circa £20,000!

    Great choice!
  29. G

    £10k to spend. 197?

He did, which is why I am questioning the S2000 as I thought these were higher than 17.

    £10k to spend. 197?

S2000 but are they not group 19? 330 Beemer?
