I would leave the oil leak unless your going through loads of oil. Most of them seem to seep a bit of oil.
If your half handy with a spanner you could probably do all the jobs yourself.
I'm pretty sure the cv boots arn't very expensive.
Are they having a tin bath!!
CV boot I would have thought would be around £70 at a normal garage.
I'm not sure about the top strut mount.
Headlight washers should be just the price of the part as I think they are dead easy to do.
How bad is the oil leak?
Ah right I thought they were the same. Thought you were going for the 172 cup track width for some reason!
IMO 10mm spacers or over need to be hubcentric otherwise the wheel is just held on by the bolts and doesn't sit on the hub which makes it a pain to align and is also expecting the bolts...
I had a similar thing the other week and although it looked like my bulbs were ok one of the brake bulbs had a loose element inside the bulb that had come away so was making crap contact and shorting everything out.
Random parts bin job I think.
The thing is its pot luck as some were better than others. Mine made a huge difference but I had to get a remap to get the full potential out of them as they were making the car run a bit lean.
Best ive got was 48mpg at 70mph on a 100mile run on m3,m25 then m1. Hardly had to stop or slow because there was no traffic. Real life calculation came out at 45mpg so there not too far out IMO
Fitted these at the weekend and I can't believe the difference they have made to the handling. I was a bit sceptical that they would make much difference but they have to be one of the best things ive done to the car!
New oil has stopped it when the engines warm but it still does it slightly when cold. One thing ive noticed is when the cars is in gear I can move the gearstick about an inch foward and back before a resistance is felt. What would be casuing this?
Did my first trackday on friday and TBH ive not noticed any major increase of wear on my brakes or tyres. If its your first time on the track you probably wont be pushing hard enough to wear anything out. So in answer to your questions the pads will be fine for a trackday and then road use.
I don't see whats wrong with doing stuff yourself if you cant afford to pay someone else to do it and your more than capable of doing the work.
What you have said is similar to saying "Well ive bought a house but I can't afford to pay someone to decorate it so maybe I shouldn't have a house...
^^Such as my braided brake lines which I told my girlfriend were 'Simple' to install! 2 days, a new brake line, several more tools for the garage and lots of brake fluid later they were on!!
If I didn't do most of the work to my car then I would be taking the bus/train as I wouldn't be able to afford it.
Though when I fitted braided brake lines the other week the union nut shredded and I had to replace the solid line. The job wasn't actually too bad but I would have been stuck...
Mate at work called it a hairdressers shopping trolley when I first got it then I left him and his 323 for dead on the way home. Never had a bad coment since.
Well i thought what the heck and changed the oil anyway. The comma oil that was in there was the blackest ive ever seen!
Its been in there for 10,000 odd miles but I was really suprissed with the state of it.
I havn't taken the car for a spin yet but i'm hopeful that I can eek a little...
