Apart from the fact that it has no headlamp washers or self levelling, which are required by law..;)
A statement by the department of transport.
"1. The headlamp unit (outer lens, reflector, bulb) shall be type approved to ECE 98 and be "e-marked" to demonstrate this. That can only be done...
there's a charcoal/carbon 'cannister' connected to the breather from the fuel tank to collect evaporated fule from the fuel tank. Purge solenoid does exactly as the name suggest - purges the cannister into the inlet manifold, to be burnt in the chamber as normal, when the engine is up to temp...
Depends what you're sfter from a car.
I doubt we'll see a proper Cup like the 172 again.
Much cheaper, much more basic, lighter and faster. Ideal for some people.
I bought my girlfriend a 1.4 16v Mk3 Clio a few weeks back and it's miles (and I mean miles) ahead of the old Clio in terms...
Everyones copied it!
I was actually the second or third to have it (Scott - Cli0172 was the pioneer lol) it's just that I've tended to post a picture of it at every given opportunity because I like it so much. :o
There's no secret mate.
I've had to fine tune my Pro-Speed a little that's all, and I though I'd see if anyone one else is likely to have the same problem as me.
Like mine (Day, FubAr etc)
Can you do me a favour and post a picture of your centre section? It might be in your interests....
I don't usually ask grown men to drop to thier hands and knees at my request, but work with me here. I need a pic of where the pipe joins the centre...
I stnad corrected then mate. Knew you'd had problems, but never got to hear of the cause. And and as far as I'm concerned the majority of cars that suffer from the knocking suspension seem to be 182's... but that's a whole new can of worms. lol. :quiet: Never had a problem with mine.
Oh and...
63mm is 2.5 inch... lol
I've even heard 3 inch mentioned.
All I know is I trust BenR's opinion on such matters and it certainly seems as though BTB know their onions.
We've always been told that 63mm is the magic number.... but the trouble is people on here read something and treat it as gospel..... I've never bothered to find out myself.
Is there an argument on here about which car is quickest? Nope.
All i see in this thread is a bit of banter and a discussion on the benefits of cable throttles.
Finally something resembling a quantifiable reply!! The delay happens when in neutral and blipping the throttle, or at least it did until I had my grpN ECU fitted. Now it's completely instantaneous - The GrpN ECU is programmed to open the throttle as quick as possible.
Cables throttles have...
So the Cup has 1 or 2 more bhp. That's some real useable power right there.. hehe
To chuck in my 2p, I found the biggest difference with the Cup was nothing to do with the engine at all.... after all it is identical.
The way it handles was the biggest difference for me.
I'm not getting into another 'better than' thread.
I only posted in here to pull some legs about 'PhQuick' (and got a few biters too) but now i'm geniunely intrigued as to why every ph1 owner is convinced that the FBW is so bad, and I've not had one problem with it?
I can't say I've ever given the throttle that much thought. I really don't see it as an issue. And I've only ever read about the 172 having a razor sharp throttle - No mention anywhere else except here abou the fly by wire system being so bad. I've driven a ph1 172 and never noticed a...
