ok.. I have priced the parts I have for sale from reno uk for the turbo conversion.
from reno..
Exhaust manifold £388.93
Turbo £1143.28
Inlet manifold £317.25
4 injectors £202
Map sensor (boost) £86.37
total of £2018 !! aghhhhh..
I now have only 3 of...
oh, and any reasonable driver could make up for the slight weight reduction on a track day.. in a full race session, the weight loss may be an advantage of course, but not on user track days.

Hi Edd, for a track day car.. sort of.. but its no where near stripped enough for that - yet
the savings on weight dont addup when you consider the it all as a package.
it really is down to personal taste, absolutely.
I would rather have the aircon (wont live without it lol) ice, and...
Hi all, (sorry about the off topic as its a for sale.. but I never get much chance to check the other forums...
I have a complete 172 engine I have just bought (10k miles) and have the following parts for sale if anyone is interested.
172 head complete with cams, vvt, valves etc.. ideal...
well, yes, sort of.. the mechanical part is still there... just that you can trick the wastegate into seeing different pressures (always below - never above waht is available)
the lowering of the actuation pressure of the wastegate is the trick most often bypassed or missed by turbo add on...
I personally think the cup is a total waste of dosh
the performance is hardly any difference, the comforts are missing etc..
I think 172 Slayer was right when he said it was a marketting ploy to let reno enter the saxo prive domain..
not my CUP of tea lol

No probs Koivis..
Chavvy..
controlling the boost on a mechanical actualtor by electronic means is actually quite simple.
heres how it works.
if you can imagine a simple pipe from the compressor outlet (Boosted air pressure) connected to the wastegate valve.. then at a given pressure...

Hi Chavvy.. no probs dood...
on a turbo car ie A3 t... then it is simply a change to the boost level and boost level cut off..
allowing a small increase in rpm can allow the boost to spiral up too. so 30 bhp is simple.. (but, the owner could do it himslef in a cruder way for 2 quid ...
Hi Sir.. that is an intersting page.. I dont see any 172 info though as the ecu is very different from the 16v units.
I am not familiar with the 16v ecu, just the 172, and that is limited..
All I know at the mo is that the rom can be read by an eprom reader / programmer.
programming by...
I want one of the kits as in no. 40
http://www.g-shinwa.co.jp/shopping/product/0040/pic/photo_1.jpg
that looks VERY similar to the clio cup.. sensible approach with coilovers on the back too.
can anyone translate or see a price ??
Joe
Hi Ben LOL
not adressed at you Sir no .. just generally and in reply to simons question..
yes, if you changed ot for increased flow at high rpm (IF, and only if..it was actually causing a restriction in the first place) then yes...
but the bottom end would suffer.
cheers m8

Hio Guys..
Simon, the throttle body size on the single unit is often connsidered a weak point or restriction.
Early golf gti tuners (VW Rabbit in US) had a craze for increasing the tb size..
when actually tested it didnt do anything apart from move the torque curve up slightly, hence...

I Forgot to add the other tangible benefits of tbs ..
ok... you WILL get INSTANT response from yer lump... it is very noticable when compared to an injected - especially fly by wire) system..
the increase in breathability of the simple airpump (read engine) is enhanced.. showing...
