for the majority of people, ITR is more than adequate. I still use it as well as Tardis depending on the on the level of contamination. and compared to other products on the shelf, it more than warrants its price tag
for a couple of £'s, I'd suggest getting a bottle of autoglym intensive tar remover. wash, de tar, clay, rinse off, dry, HD cleanser, HD wax.
I really like the HD wax, but make sure the applicators are nice and wet. also only do 2 panels at a time leaving the wax long enough to cure but not...
if it's baked in the oven should be ok to seal providing you don't use anything abrasive. if they haven't cooked it, it's best to leave it a couple of weeks before sealing.
If it's good condition, maybe wise to seal it with something more long lasting than EGP
With that amount of passes and the problem with the polish drying out I'd be getting through quite a lot of P1. i appreciate the green pad isn't a cutting pad but with it being a 1st attempt I was unsure of their abilities, orange or yellow next time
AG intensive tar remover should move most things that Tardis would, just maybe with a bit more work. Look into a megs or AG clay kit for other parts that you can't get rid of.
Wax wise, collis for durabilty, DJ for looks and regular applications
Been slowly reading and reading and building up kit so decided to attack my GF's Mk4 Golf TDi in silver to get some proper practice. I'll put up pics later once they've all downloaded but it was in a pretty dirty mess.
I borrowed a megs G220 from a friend, and used a C.Guys Hexlogic green /...
My mrs has here own car, but quite often uses the 182 at weekends. she drove us home last night as I'd been drinking at a fairly brisk pace I must say. Her driving style changes dramatically going from her Mk4 goolf Tdi to the clio.
I do get a bit annoyed when she uses it to go down the...
I found this when I first started using it years ago, was initially applying to much, less is more I was told and it certainly made a difference. also if the MF cloth isn't very clean, or has bee used quite a few times to buff off the EGP it makes it quite difficult. throw them in the wash and...
Autoglym HD wax online is under £30, I really rate it and think it looks lovely on the LY. I'm yet to try the DJ waxes though as the reports of poor durability put me off, as incase I can't wash and reapply regularly I'd need to start again. tempted by a panel pot of orange crush or bannana...
I use AG HD wax and think it's really good, looks great and durability is pretty good too. but at £45 just to get it by the weekend probably not, I paid £25 ish online which I think is about right for it. I'll be purchasing another pot when this one runs out. application is easy and even the GF...
How is this stuff say after a few days / week? is there still the high gloss finish? how does this compare to z6
I'm starting to come to the opinion QD's aren't really worth the money. they only seem to give any improvement after initial application which soon wares off. I'm basing my theory...
Not really any benefit from a CAF, if you really wanted to do it then you could run a feed from the fog but don't connect it to the airbox, just have it coming up and directed towards the airbox opening.
Do a quick search, has been discussed many a times
wash using 2 bucket method
de tar with autoglym intensive tar remover or tardis
clay the whole car to remove any contaminants
I was of the oppinion black hole and SRP were much the same product of filling swirls? SRP is more thaan likely going to strip off whatever you put on before it so best...
as said sounds like you've gone a bit too far wit the abrasive. have another go but with a lighter pad and lighter action so that you're not getting the degree of cut. In essence as you would when sanding down, start with something abrasive then slowly work down to something lighter.
Might be a case of mis diagnosing it and not knowing the common problems with this engine, and not 'telling porkies'. even more reason to get it to ones of the guys with CLIOSPORT TRADER under their user name.
Tell him you've spoken to specialist on here and the possible complex problems /...
These ones JD? http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/polishing/lake-country-hydrotech-pads/cat_98.html
Would the Lake country CCS (dimpled) pads be better for a beginner due to them claiming to generating less heat? I'm not looking to use them that often so risk of falling apart is low, unless lack of...
experience with german cars does not give him any extra kudos for working on an RS. If he was unable to diagnose it shortly after starting it they wouldn't be working on my car, regardless of Mrs friend / recommended etc. Giving them the benefit of doubt may just cost you even more in the long...
What pad would you recommend for enhancement with LP? It'll be used with a Megs G220 and am looking at getting a selection of Lake Country pads with my next order?
On the same topic, what pads would you recommend when using GTechniq P1 on light to medium swirled Clio paint?
Occasionally I would get a little flicker of pinks / purple colours across the screen that I just put down to the monitor not being that good (cheapy Advent). Today the whole screen had changed in its shading to make whites light pink, orange reds and yellow all now appear an inferno orange...

I use this but don't remember paying that for it. put the straps around the back seat headrest and lay it down into the boot, as soon as you lay the seats down...
