I missed that bit reading it the 1st time round. I didn't lol at this, just shook my head in dis belief. please provide details of the standard timing tools that are all is needed to do it CORRECTLY?
lol at 'TOOL ACADEMY'
IIRC doens't the RS use different tools to other renault 2.0 engines as well? the renault suplied timing tools are not the same as generic timing tools, nor are pattern part tools as good as the renault ones. if it were so easy and everyone had the basic tools for doing cambelts then there...
can't comment on the above iphone apps, but I use this one; Mac Tools ET97

simply to use for fault codes, and also can give live running data for emissions and fueling.
no need to wax then apply EGP, wash, de tar, clay, SRP, then either wax or seal with either colli's 476 wax or EGP sealant. most bits can be found in halfords for basic cleaning.
Most importantly, don't foget to use the 2 bcuket method when washing.
do you want to mail order (i4detailing.co.uk generally do next day delivery if placed by 2pm.) or just head off to halfords?
You can pick up a meguiars or autoglym clay kit with clay, lube, AG comes with microfibre cloth as well I think, all available from Halfords. I'd consider using a tar...
they look a lovely colour, think they'd look best on a Ph1 compared to white wheels on a white car, I've never spotted a white Ph1 around Essex but will be keeping a keen eye out for this.
It would have looked 10x times had you moved it into the light. I painted my calipers silver and looked quite nice as a subtle contrast. Keep as eye on the carbon as well as I've had carbon fog surrounds and diamonds for some time now, and once a stone chip puts a hole in the lacquer, moisture...
is the poorboys white diamond just as good as the blackhole on the lighter coloured cars? or is it more marketing and not really matter too much which one is used
if you can apply it and wash them reguarly then it might be ok. I'll be trying poorboys wheel sealant next to see if it looks better than the Colli's, especially as it's supposed to be better with the heat
I wasn't that impressed with ot tbh, didn't do a great job of sealing or stopping surface spots not able to just wash off, but then I guess it's easy enough to apply on a regular basis.
I got better, longer lasting results from using Colli's 476 wax
Re: What have you ordered?
Ordered a few bits from ebay this week and arrived today:
Bilberry wheel cleaner, have previously just used Megs gold class shampoo and a wheel brush so will be interesting to see the difference.
Tardis tar and glue remover and spray head to replace my AG ITR
and a...
I've painted my inlets and fuel rail guard a matt black, gone for black silicone inlet elbow and airbox feed, and will be spraying my engine cover yellow in the distant future.
I did consider the yellow silicone hoses but saw that they faded quite well like the picture you posted.
was the engine off? more than likely just heat expansion on some pipes / metal, quite often happens with exhausts as they cool down and start to shrink they make a sound like that.
what kind of periods of durability are you getting with the C2, and is that with or without the C2 diluted down and used as a detailing spray after a wash? was looking to use it on the GF's golf as it only gets washed when I do it so want something pretty durable.
I can't see them, but know they are there as you get the odd flash. Also my cleaning method isn't the best so after 5 years I'm contemplating having it done properly.
Also thanks whoever corrected my spelling in the title. lol
sorry about the title, was in a hurry to get it posted before I left.
Tried the Cliosport torch just now in average light/ low light and couldn't see anything. Can occasionally see a few when the sun is low and look along a panel but not enough to photograph. will dig out my riding lights as...
Wasn't asure if this should be in hear or media or photography, buit as the pics appear on hear I'm after advise on the best way to capture them.
I don't have any fancy SLR, just a Fujifilm FinePix but when I've tried before I never really seem to be able to capture them. Do I take it in...
No reason why you can't turn it 90 deg. but then it won't be held on place as such and will move around within the slot both up and down and sideways. Plus doing it this way meant it gave a better fit within the hanger, and I could also make the whole exactly where I wanted it.
They are stiff...
I used this - Renault Matic D2 . ideally its a 2 person job as extra hands certianly help.
I un bolted and moved the main header tank out the way, unbolted the the power steering resovior and lifted it up as much as possible. check the 2 pipes underneath and identify the return pipe, pull this...
I can't help a great deal as I got mine from Renault. But if it's not been changed, then I'd consider flushing it through and replacing it. Did mine at the weekend with my 72K service and where it gets so hot its starts to burn and breaks down. You start to get black bits in it. I've heard it...
it was called by Renault a 'Clio 16v', knicknamed 'valver'. It was one of the few engines at the time that used 16 valves instead of 8. the vauxhall red top (C20XE) was a 2.o 16v and often called a valver lump
is it a Ph1 or Ph2 172? if a Ph1 - 1 feed removed, the other ducted through to below the headlight. If it's a Ph2 leave as is. Won't get any real gaiin but may make it louder. just fit a panel filter in the standard air box.
