C2 needs to be applied to a perfectly clean surface otherwise durability is reduced. So best if possible wipe down after polishing with IPA or a panel wipe. If application is successful then durability is very good for simply 5 minutes for application.
If working P1 by hand did you get their...
removing swirls / scratches by hand is achievable but very hard work and time consuming. pad and compound will vary dependant on the condition of the paint. And this will all be a bit of a waste of time if your methods for washing and maintaining are not great as this will incur further swirls...
looks nice, i'd leave the tips as they are unless they expand out when hot too much. But not sure of the sound on a standard abarth. Maybe if it were stripped rally / touring / street monster that had the power to back up the noise.
car looks great, would have been nice to see before pics to compare.
what compounds did you use with the green Hexlogic pad? I used 203 with an orange cutting hexlogic pad on the DAS6 and didnt get great correction
I've really not got on with my DA for correction. Is fine for cleansers etc but really don't like the feel when doing slow prolonged passes. Had a quick play with somebodies rotary and felt much nicer to control. Think it was a milwaukee? big red thing? Was nice not having to go so slow or apply...
CYC have been quite slow with previous orders in processing them, so my last I opted for next day delivery to try and spur them on. Admittedly they did get it out but then was let down by DPD. it's a shame as previously Tim has been quite helpful over the phone. I'll have a look into Elite, I...
Re: What have you ordered?
A trip to see James @ Auto Finesse was costly. A big thanks to James for his time and guidance and quick demo's of the products led to a purchase of:
rejuvenate
tripple
tough coat
citrus power
and the odd wax and wheel cleaner concentrate sample :star:
I think Russ means normal waxes wont work over AFPP. A post on detailing world by Rich of Polished Bliss:
...very few waxes sit comfortably on top of AFPP, because the polymer used to make it is a fussy one that repels natural waxes. This is why Blackfire have engineered there own wax to...
Is that Tim at CYC?
I placed my order with them last night with next day delivery hoping for processing today and shipped for Wednesday / Thursday to ensure it was here before Friday as I have the day off. No confirmation email received as of yet regarding delivery
Re: What have you ordered?
3oz pot Vics red concours wax
3oz pot Vics yellow collectors wax
gliptone leather conditioner
Autobrite magifoam snow foam
and as a treat to myself after the dog decided it was perfect for chewing, a new snow foam bottle. Check out the film related comment...
what brand of pad are they?
as for the menz compounds, as the name suggests the power finish has a heavier cut, where as the final finish has less to get that final glossy finish
looks nice and glossy
how are you finding the Auto Finesse products? Am fingers away from placing an order and heading up to their units in Essex. How would you say the tripple corrected and filled? I'm not too fussed about its protection qualities too much but split still between this and...
'cliosport' seems to work again on CYC, get 5 - 7.5% off I think.
Can't see how to reuse my points on there though as you can either use a discount code or points, and my login always automatically adds the discount code.
So they say, heard very good reviews about it, but also others have difficulty with application causing poor performance. I do a bit of town driving for work and G3 works well at 30mph, and just as well as any other when at 60 / 70mph. bit of a PITA when washing though as it sheets very well...
it's supposed to be a fine / soft clay AFAIK. I know the different grades of softness.
I personally prefer the feel of the megs clay an will prob go back to it next time.
Orange crush and Vics red will looks lovely, but won't last.
AG HD wax has lasted me just short of 6months and looks good £25 / £30 online. DJ supernatural hybrid is same price range and looks great again, unsure of durability but is supposed to be quite good, but better than there standard...
what do you want from a wax? durability / looks / ease of application, whats your budget. bit more info would make it much easier to give a good recommendation.
SRP has mild abrasives so will cleanse a little and maybe remove any sealants or waxes if it's used over the top of them, it will also fill some light swirls a little like a glaze would.
EGP is a sealant that provides a little protection to the paintwork, but will more than likely be removed if...
