The 2.0 Twin Spark would be easy meat for a 172 - and most reasonable hot hatches. The latest 2.0s are up to 165bhp, but the older ones (and that means almost all of them) are 150bhp ones. Fantastic engines still, but not a real challenge for a 172.
The 3.0 V6 would be a more interesting...
Hmm...I think Glenn that you mean that if I got 17" Superleggaras that Id be a copy cat...but then I was the first with dark wheels in the first place!;)
Im really keen on the Speedlines like on the Willy - I hear that silver ones were optional on the 16v as early as 1991. The Willy copied...

I will! Except it consists of...wait for it...
Clio 1.2 "Les Routiers" - which I butchered into a rally-style machine
Clio 16v - which I own now! Bit of a beast this one...
Im only 22!
From the area code, Id say it was in Barry or the Vale of Glamorgan - Cowbridge/Llantwit Major/St Athan and so on. Surprised I havent seen the car more as I live here!
Have seen it. Pulled up at a set of lights in Cardiff next to it. I waved, but dont know if he saw me/cared. Noticed the wheels/spoiler were the same as yours.
Is it yours Nick? I was going to post to ask if it was yours, but couldnt see how if it was in wales.
Erm...thats pretty impressive Joe! Must have cost you a pretty penny over the ages! So was the Ambulance driving a bit on the side to your career as a Trader in the City maybe??!!
My parents always used to have Citroens - the BXs we had always fell to bits though! Wonderful suspension...
Just been looking around for some new wheels for my baby! My anthracite 16x7" Motorsport wheels are of 1998 vintage now and are a bit worse for wear - couple of buckles, so not just a re-spray job!
The criteria for new wheels is that theyve got to be 16" (so I can fit my old tyres, being the...

Lovely looking car mate at a decent price, probably due to the miles. Dont be put off by 90k miles as the cars take it, but only if its had all the work done to it.
By this mileage Id want a new alternator, starter, cambelts, auxillary belt and possibly the water pump. If not, then prepare...

The bulge/scoop in the 16v bonnet is there for a reason - it allows clearence for the inlet manifold (its hoses still rub on my bonnet) and cools the exhaust manifold respectively. I dont know if youve already got one or not, but youll almost certainly need one of these! The principle is that...
I run a K&N induction kit and am fully aware of the downsides associated therewith. I dont actually know this, but can certainly feel that my is less responsive on the rare occasions that I venbture into high temperature environments (like England ha ha!).
My car spends its time primarily...
They come with electric windows and mirrors and some "luxuries"! The key nice bits that get the chop are the air con, the thicker glass, a rear bench without headrests (even the basic 1.2s get headrests!) and some of the heavier soundproofing material.
My last Clio (a 1.2!) had windy...

Wow Matt! Theyre pretty impressive times! Will have to get my baby under the microscope of some good timing gear soon as well. Youve got one fast machine there and I very much doubt mines quite as quick (as proved by our play with that MG ZR;)). Still, I have a printout giving my engine...
Starter motor is another lengthy job on the 16v - not sure about the part, but the labour will be about four hours. Starter motor failure is intermittent I think, so it might be just the start of the end so to speak. I had my alternator go a few weeks ago and I was having starting problems...

When you first get into the drivers seat in a Valver and take it for a spin youll think "wow - thats fast in every gear". But after a while youll come to realise that although it will have more pull in any gear than any Escort bar a Cossie, it pulls much, much harder after 4500rpm.

Well Im glad youre using your loaf and having a good sniff around! As I said yesterday, you probably will find a number of things wrong after you buy an otherwise perfect car. Get an AA check on your favoured car - itll save you a ton if they find anything like gbox/diffs etc (all the things...
