Well Im glad youre using your loaf and having a good sniff around! As I said yesterday, you probably will find a number of things wrong after you buy an otherwise perfect car. Get an AA check on your favoured car - itll save you a ton if they find anything like gbox/diffs etc (all the things...
Could try the exhaust manifold if you get clonking/whirring noises again. I used to get it when I had two or more people in the car, then it got worse so that I had it all the time. All that was needed was a little adjustment and off I went again!
Coolant is normal as far as I know in a 16-Valve. Look out for leaks from around the radiator - like the bleed screw. I had a little leak at the bleed screw and a cracked header tank, but a little Radweld and a new tank have worked wonders.

Im actually quite surprised at the lack of times Ive been pulled over, considering my car looks like a crims favourite gettaway car! ;) (Black, black wheels, leather)...
But as for them giving me hassle over the phone and in e-mailos and stuff for supposedly organising cruises...uuurrrrgghhh -...

I have the privilege (sometimes dubious, granted!) of living in Wales. As Evo, Car and so on all espouse, Wales does have some very fine, clear roads.

If I read the...

Agree totally - most will need some work doing.
The 16v/Williams take the mileage, but Id not consider a car like these as reliable daily transport. Dont get me wrong: they rarely break down with high miles, as many of the sorts of problems that cause non-starts will be cured by now (Lambda...

Come on Pete!! Youve seen my 16v and you know you want one - or even a Williams! 172 will be wicked, but theres somethin a bit more old-school cool about a 16v/Willy. Megane isnt a Clio - nuff said!:D
16v/Willy will cost as much as a 172 or other newer car in the long run. Bought my Valver...
What all these cars have in common is a that they were the pretty much the best hot hatches of all their respective eras. The Golf GTi badge may have continuity, but as for critical acclaim...?
Moreover, each take a different angle on each of the technology of their times - turbos...
