you have to take into consideration that if the technician doesnt feel the pads will make the next service then they will suggest changing them.this is like a disclaimer to stop people coming back when there pads are worn out in between services and asking why they werent picked up on the last...
a pressure gauge could be avaliable from any tool stores(halfords might do one).you would also need a t peice section of pipe so you can put the gauge inline.
the n/s driveshaft inner gaitor has a bearing/seal on the shaft and its this that leaks.there really commen for leaking and unless its a bad leak i wouldnt bother changing it.
alright ryhs,my magnex exhaust i got yesterday looks exactly the same as the one i sold you(the silencers,brackets,clamps everything).this one only has a magnex sticker which im sure would peel off with age.it even has the same little numbered identification plates on the silencers.im 99% sure...
they are tighter than a 1.9 deisal but not that bad.the main problem is the torx bolts that hold the timing covers on are normally tight as f**k.you would need a tdc pin to do it properley(there are cheap enough though),a gen belt(they have timing marks on them to help you) and a manual(haynes...
like brun says dont get proper race pads as they need to be hot before they work.they wont get up to sufficient tempurature under normal road use.rear pads are very thin to start with on 172s so dont get confused into thinking they want changing scribbler.
if its set up properley your not gaining from it.it might be adjusted to a point where the fuel pressure is near enough standard anyway because its not set up.
if its a piggy back chip like a unichip then the renault equipment wont access it because they are wired after the ecu not actually in it.dont know what affect a superchip would have though.
