ITG Maxogen that everyone raves about, not the open filters. But is it really worth all that money???
I'd personally go for a panel filter and a improved cold air feed. If you 172 is the Ph2, you'll need the one from the 2nd link.
Bumps were only a problem if you had lowered the car, caution was very much needed :dapprove: My monster truck 182 handled them fine;) Your white 197 looked lovely though
Was good to meet some more faces. Weather added nicely to a great location. Some nice pics, looking forward to the pics to...

I've been looking at getting this one for when I go back to uni, looks OK to me but I'd appreciate a bit of adivce on it as I'm not too clued up on these things
They need a bit of a refurb and painted anthracite and a little lower but I think they look OK, just not what I'm used to:
Anyone kind enough to have ago at editing the pics so the wheels look grey?
Wasn't me this time, was driving the GF's oil burner yesterday. I've spotted a guy from chelmsford area with one lightly modded but he's not on CS, Doesn't acknowledge me either.
Just had a look at his profile and I think they look pretty smart against the blue. I've PM'd him and asked him to post up a couple of pics if he has any. Hopefully fit mine tomorrow morning
Not seen a cup about, but keep seeing a blonde in a iceburg silver Ph2 172 driving out of braintree towards panfield/ shalford direction.
Seem to remember her having a red Mk1 clio many years ago with a CS sticker
Well if I don't like the look of them on the 182 this weekend I'll see if my dad will sell the pair with tyres if you're interested. Problem is I don't think he'll be able to get another 2
I'll check the weight of them aswell with tyres on when I swap them over compared to the standard wheels, unless somebody already knows the weights of these two wheels.
the mk3 wheels are fitted with a 195/55/16 as standard so I wouldn't have thought there'd be much difference against a 205/45/16
I looked for that but it's not on there. I also checked some 15" 172 wheels (Mk2 Ph2 dynamique) and it's not stamped on them either.
I'm gonna fit them to one side tonight/tomorrow and see how they look, I'll take a pic and post it up. How difficult do you think it'll be to spray the centre...
I noticed I've got a area thats bubbled up on the drivers side front just on the underside of the skin and was going to take it back in the next couple of weeks.
Will they replace or just respary the bonnet? if they just respray will they do the whole thing as I have a few stone on ther front...
Will these wheels fit ok on my 182 with cup packs, I'm not sure on the offset of them. Think they're called Canastra. Has anyone ever fitted them before?

I've got 2 in the garage at home and if I can get another 2...
Re: SOUTH EAST De-Denting Meet
Would they be able match the paint for my liquid yellow if you can get a paint guy to come out? got no dents, so depending on where it is I might come along.
does the invite extend to outside CS, I have a neighbour that is rebuilding a 5 turbo that would most...
What are your thoughts of one fitted to liquid yellow? Mines got quite a few stone chips at the front and was thinking og getting it resprayed, but wouldn't have to worry too much with a carbon bonnet
As mentioned above, the ITG and Pipercross vipers are very popular. Also the BMC CDA is an enclosed carbon filter with cold air feed supplied which is a little cheaper than the ITG.
A few of us have gone for the Mk1 172/ espace V6 airbox, but there's no real noticeable gain over any of them...
really liking the foglight surrounds. How do people go about making an order and paying for it?
if you can see well enough in the photo, I've got a sub box bass port acting as a cold air feed in the foglight surround. Is it possible to produce anything like this?
Corsa clan says it all, when has anyone known any corsa to handle as well as any clio, let alone a Williams. In my mind the Williams was the ultimate all round hot hatch of its time.
As for is it worth £12k, maybe if your a collector like the owner obviously is
Beautiful car though
Welcome mate, I work in colchester so you might see me driving around in the mornings between sites.
looks like theres a couple of names on this thread that haven't posted on here yet:

Glad you found the right one!!
I had a swift gti as my first car, was a J-reg mk2. Absolutely loved it, but I did spend an aweful lot of time respraying panels and fiddling with the engine to get it looking nice.
People just couldn't understand it when a 1300 twin cam would out accelerate...

Check out the vid at Bedford of a 197cup following a 182cup. Hardly anything in it, But the 197 looked to be cornering quite flat, didn't seem to be any roll at all
I think they all do it, all you have to do is press the button on the end of the wiper stalk to cycle through the trip computer. Should only have to press it once to get to the mileage
A standard T2 from a 5 Turbo is efficient to about 14psi/ 1bar although it'll run out of puff at about 6000rpm. Generally I've not seen a T25 run any less than about 12/13psi when fitted to a 5 Turbo, but I've seen plenty turned up to 20+psi running reliable
