172... with Cup spoilers and suspension setup..... hang on a minute.. thats a 182.... maybe I should get one after all!!!
Jeremy, sorry for being cheeky, but do you reckon you could sort me out with a hi-res copy of this pic??!! Or maybe put a wallpaper download section on the site?? (apologies if there is one and I havent found it) http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1082432282__image1.jpg
Ive had my 172 since November.... and apart from a passenger seat runner and a rattling drivers window, no major probs. Its been 5000 miles of trouble free (but rattly) motoring for me... touch wood....
From what I have read, the Citroen/Peugeot engines respond quite well to simple breathing mods such as an Induction Kit. The Clio on the other hand, especially the Renaultsport variants, gain very little in terms of peak power. This could be due to the airbox on the 172/182 already being a well...
It sucks really. Only known solution is to take easy in first gear when its wet. I booted mine in the wet yesterday.... sounded like my engine was trying to make its way in to the cabin.... BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!
As below. Greasy fingerprints optional..
Very rare I turn mine off tbh. Only times Ive turned it off is when I want a quick take off from standing start (really bogs you down at the slightest hint of wheelspin). Also interrupts the bang bang bang bang when your wheels spin up in the wet...
Irs kind of a safety feature for the speed limiter. If you kickdown the accelerator, it turns off the limiter. Cruise control is interrupted by any action on the accelerator, brake or clutch....
If you must have Lexus style lights, on a black clio, get these....

This is Iceburg Silver. Looks blueish in this pic, sometimes more- sometimes less, dependent on light.
My 172 sometimes seems to take a while to get going from slow second gear roundabouts..... but I wouldnt say it was hard to keep it on the boil otherwise.........
Ben mate, I would love to read it/see it. Never really had any interest in the internal combustion engine until I came on here. Theres a bit more to it than intake, compression, ignition, exhaust!! Im eager to learn!! ( go easy though!!)
