I took the old unit out of my 172 and installed it in the same place in the 182. It cost me £86 for the cable from Renault and ten minutes to fit. Very easy to do.

I had to have a cover note sent to the garage to allow them to tax my car before I collected it. One good thing is that youll now know not to trust a quote that sounds to good to be true. Ive always made sure Ive got a lot around the same sort of figure before Im convinced.

I got my 182 on F & F with 30 % off. The trade in you get offered shouldnt be any worse than if you were paying full price for the new car, I was offered a decent amount for my Import 172. The dealer doesnt make a great deal on a F & F as far as I know, just something like a £200 handling...

Only in silver. ;) Dont bother with the rattling seat runner, they may fit a new one but it will only come back. Just move the seat around until it stops. It was the same on both my 172 and 182. Letting a dealer at the car is asking for trouble. LOL

Back in June I traded in my Monaco Blue March 03 EU import 172 with 22500 miles on the clock. This was against a new 182 which I was getting on Friends and Family. I got £8,600.00 which wasnt much different to what Id get private!

I reckon theyve struck a good balance this time. It will appeal to a wider audience and shouldnt bother exisiting 182 owners in any way.

One of the big differences the 172 Cup had over the 172 was the changed steering geometry which gave its improved front end bite into corners. The differences between the 182 and the 182 Cup are so small its hardly worth bothering IMO. Although Im sure it will help Renault sell a few more...
