They have auto headlamps.
You can disable it if you dont like them by switching the key to position 2 with the engine off and then turn the lights on and off twice. You hear a beep and they are disabled.
I dont have mine on auto as they get on peoples nerves driving into bridges and fly...
For the love of god just phone Renault UK and ask them. They will know from the VIN which country the car was originally sold in. Why bother playing detective when a simple phone call can answer your question. :D
With regard to the etching, its not the reg that gets etched, its the cars...
I had an import 172 from new. When I traded it in I got just over a grand less than if it had been a UK car. But I paid over £2k less for the car.
Thats not the case these days, the savings are so small you do stand a larger chance of losing out, unless you keep it for a good few years, then...
No, because the car was registered over here.
Insurance companies only really care about grey imports, not EU ones as the car is the same as sold over here in most cases.
Being a pre reg car doesnt really tell you anything as lots of UK cars get pre registered also. The difference being...
To be 100% sure, call RUK with the VIN number, they can tell you the cars original country of origin. I did that with my 172 to make sure it was originally destined for an EU country.
I cant offer any help Im afraid, but Id not be at all impressed with the way the main dealer you used like to work. Anyone can fix a problem if they throw enough money at it. They should be able to diagnose it and fix it!!
Heres the letter: http://www.leemather.plus.com/stuff/rw.jpglink I...
No mate, what I mean is that what caught you would have been a mobile laser, which the b2 can detect.
Remember my post the other week when I got pulled but the b2 went off for me so I braked? It would have been the same device.
Im happy with my b2.
You will have got caught by a mobile laser Dan. They dont use mobile radars around here. The b2 comes with a laser detector but the radar detector is a £99 option.
In standard form the b2 either knows the whereabouts of or can pick up everything except mobile gatsos.
I got mine from http://www.vertar.comwww.vertar.com Phil often gives a small discount to Cliosport members too. I think I paid about £128 for the starter kit and a nice new sponge.
There are lots of these for sale at the moment. Im sure people are prepared to come down in price, so its worth shopping around for one with no faults. The exhausts look okay, but Id be wanting to know what it is and who did it.
The clutches are often heavy in 172s.
You can pick one up for less than £15k, which makes it an absolute bargain. There isnt another new car which offers the same spec or performance as a 182 for anywhere near the money.
Spec wise its got ,auto Xenon headlamps, Digital climate control, leather and alcantara seats, auto wipers...
Thats odd. If they are a Renault dealer and selling imports that didnt come via the Renault Import centre (which is where the alarm is fitted) thats a bit wierd.
Because mine came from a car supermarket I was the second name on the logbook.
They all come from the same factory, its just who...
It makes bugger all difference. In fact most security add ons dont seem to effect insurance unless you are talking trackers and the like.
I had Motorpoint fit a Sigma alarm which works with the Renault Immobiliser and key fob to my 172. It had more features than the one I have on the 182!
I had a 172 from Motorpoint.
The differences between the import and a UK car are:
No window etching, so its not on the security register
No alarm - Motorpoint can fit you one
No locking wheel nuts
Warranty you still get 3 years but will need to claim this from Renault...
Im more thank happy with the Zymol Titanium wax I purchased. Pictures of the car after the full treatment here: http://www.leemather.plus.com/images/RSClio182/01.08.04/index.htmlLink Id not want to polish a new car, a good coat of wax is whats called for.
b2 here. Very happy with it.
Here it is in my 172, and its now in the same in the 182:
