Some dealers are pricks. Saw 2 cars recently, advertised with FSH, even checked on the phone before going to look. Turn up, both cars 30k+ miles, 4 yr old. One service in all that time.
Then don't buy it, simple. On any 2nd hand car I always leave some money aside for issues, if you can't do that you can't really afford the car (unless your lucky and it's absolutely faultless).
I've had 5, worst fault (other than w&t, brakes, tyres etc) problem I had was a squeaky aux belt pulley. Under £200 to sort. You could buy a new BMW and have massive problems. Do your research, check the car over carefully, be reet.
Drive them both fella. Only thing I would consider with the Trophy, the rear bench. If carrying kids, I'd want to swap to the rear seats from a 182, as the Trophy doesn't have headrests in the rear IIRC. Probably £200ish for a 2nd hand set.
Rear access is fine with the Recaro's. The suspension is designed to rebuilt, not replaced, it's £350 for a rebuild of both front dampers. IIRC standard 182 dampers are £100 per corner, + fitting, so the cost difference is very little. Trophy is slightly firmer than a 182, but miles better than...
Can't remember everyone that can do this, but I know GAZ (not that I would ever recommend them!) do, and one or 2 others. Icarus mentioned that he'd done some research and found 2 or 3 other companies that do them.
