I would not get the stiffer springs. I did, bounced around like Tyssen after a night out ;). The dampers need revalving for the stiffer springs, Dan's having his done now IIRC. For me, the softer springs are spot on.
I'm looking forward to a strop in Riz's car (H&R's). Has been set-up by...
I've owned a Trophy, and a Clio on coilovers (AST's). The Trophy is the better road car, one of the better road cars I've ever driven. But the coilovers are better for track, no argument. In a perfect world I'd have one of both.
You talk tosh. As you know, I'm on a very different set-up now. And we were in birmingham, went above 40mph once on a DC! Hush-a-mouf, your sexiness doesn't make up for your jive talk.
Only because thats what you have (on the vee, not a 172). I'm sure if you'd been able to get the H&R's, as you wanted, you'd be recommending those above all others. Out of interest, have you driven a 172 on KW's or AST's, or Billies?
The big difference between a cupped 197 and a 197 cup is cost. If money's not an issue, go for a 197 with cup pack, drives identical to the 197 cup. I'd get a late R27, cup chassis, Recaro's, revised gearbox.
