well i've never heard of anything major being a problem. Engines on the whole seem bullet proof, only problems can be not having the aux belt changed around 35k... if not changed and it does fail, it has been known to take out the cambelt. Piece of piss to change on a cup too, and the belt...

you can usually hear when it needs a new cog lol, i reckon the shift light should have been in the middle of the two dials (where the stop service lights are), can't miss it then

them black bits are stickers so won't pop off, i got some for mine from reno, 11 iirc, but i got em free lol

doesnt it keep the turbo spun up so no lag when they drop the clutch off the line?

think they all do it, mine splutters, misses the lot, sounds good though lol. Clears after a min or so
