If the PTFE is of any significant thickness (>1mm ) then It will need to be pretty well port matched IMO
The only way to lay this to rest is to measure the temperatures with and without. Easily and cheaply performed. I'll take a discount gasket and do it myself ;)

they are known as pressurised cooling systems I belive, but they are not really meant to hold any significant pressure. If the filler bottle has split then you can easily easily pick one up from a scrappy for pennys tbh, but I wouldnt worry about it no. Just keep an eye on your coolant level...
your all missing the point IMHO
thr 197 should have been a turbo petrol. It's the only way to go.
More research needs to be done into BIG boost turbos in small capacities
