i think this is the common fault where a cheap and tiny cog comes adrift/broken and it's several hours labour to fix becuase it's deep deep inside the dash

worked out i can remove it, it seems to have a locating tag on the bottom on the bolt head. does it need to be removed?

Steering rack pinch bolt. I've slackened the nut. But the bolt head on the other side seems to be completely round (i think) Does the pinch bolt need to be removed or slackened to separate column and rack?

my trolley jack does have a good surface area on it and a rubber pad has anyone tried the subframe at the front basically under the rad? and would it be such a crime to jack it off the sump??
