I think the Laguna alloys work really well on the 197 and would probably fool 99% of people.

Im not sure what model your car is but it sounds like the car isn't recognising the boot opening. First port of call would be the switch and the wiring to it.

I just use a large screwdriver or something to line up the bolt holes. Usually works fine.
