    People who've got OMP cages

I'm looking into buying another cage at the moment and have been told that the FIA have changed the rules on dash-dodgers. Not sure what that rule is, but maybe they've been banned. The link you've supplied does say 'new'.

    3k for 182 05' plate, 30k, frsh. Bargain?

If they were going to stick it on the forecourt they'd put at least £1500 on the trade in price - in this case likely more.

    3k for 182 05' plate, 30k, frsh. Bargain?

Audi won't stick it on the forecourt, it'd get sold to their trade in buyer who'll usually just take everything they've taken in themselves as a job lot. Staff though will often get first dibs on whats come in. £3k is a bargain regardless of colour, belts etc. I hate the way members of this...

alpine cd changer won't fit alpine head unit

So you're trying to connect the standard Renault cd changer to an alpine unit? It'll never work. Need to get yourself a new changer.

Wednesday is usually Rich's day off so you might not get a response until tomorrow. His email is richardhaughton@cdg-cars.com if you need it.

    Lotus Festival / Race Report

Rob is there a reason apart from weight for persisting with the K series, or are you past the point of no return with that engine? Surely a Honda engine will give you the grunt you're after? Though I'm assuming that'll stick you in another class?

    Jon's Trackday PH1 172 project thread

I'll eventually be painting the cage red as well to tie it all in. I've read that Vmaxx may be a little soft on track, but look forward to trying them out to see how they go :)

    Jon's Trackday PH1 172 project thread

Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread Well spotted Sherlock, I'll change it. Yeah they are VMaxx and a stop gap until budget allows something more suited to the task. It'll be setup properly when the car is finished, though it looks quite low as the back of the car is filled with wheels...

    Jon's Trackday PH1 172 project thread

Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread Blimey, long time no update. Not much is happening as all my 'car' money is being used on home and child related stuff at the moment, plus i've not been down south for a length of time since start of June. Little bit of time this week so thought...

South East - Where to get cambelt done cheap

If Dan can do it for £220 then I wouldn't even bother calling anywhere else. That's bloody good value.

    RS2 inlet

Not really. We've got about a page of facts, 5 pages of bickering and a further 3 pages of the JLS fanclub bigging up a product they don't own

South East - Where to get cambelt done cheap

I'd also thoroughly recommend Ren7oaks having used them in the past, but not at that price. Call them back and say it's a cup without aircon. You shouldn't be paying anywhere near that.

A Good Drive With Friends (Pic Heavy)

They were the days. 5am start or something rediculous. The road from Rye to Dungerness via Camber was the highlight.

Thrust bearing problem, engine seals and where to buy things!

Re: Shims on no.2 - Thrust Bearings I've got a sump gasket downstairs in a separate package, so assume I'm only missing the crank seals then. I'll get some tomorrow. Didn't realise you could order an entire engine set - wish the parts department had volunteered that info! Can you think of...

Thrust bearing problem, engine seals and where to buy things!

Re: Shims on no.2 - Thrust Bearings I'll check again tonight but fairly sure i had. Can compare against the second bottom end I guess. Wishing I'd bought a complete secondhand engine at the moment tbh, but i'll get there.

Thrust bearing problem, engine seals and where to buy things!

Re: Shims on no.2 - Thrust Bearings Yeah just called Reno and asked, they list loads of sizes from 2.3 upwards. whats confusing me is the width of the bearings i've got are fine, it's just they're clicking backwards and forwards on rotation of the crank? Is that normal? Also 2 crank seals...
