Rob is there a reason apart from weight for persisting with the K series, or are you past the point of no return with that engine? Surely a Honda engine will give you the grunt you're after? Though I'm assuming that'll stick you in another class?

Yeah I got on there this morning but without others on there it's next to useless. Give it time I guess.

I'll eventually be painting the cage red as well to tie it all in. I've read that Vmaxx may be a little soft on track, but look forward to trying them out to see how they go :)

Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread Well spotted Sherlock, I'll change it. Yeah they are VMaxx and a stop gap until budget allows something more suited to the task. It'll be setup properly when the car is finished, though it looks quite low as the back of the car is filled with wheels...

I'd also thoroughly recommend Ren7oaks having used them in the past, but not at that price. Call them back and say it's a cup without aircon. You shouldn't be paying anywhere near that.

Yeah it was a good few years ago now but we used to do a couple each year. Some of the guy's have moved on, but a few of us are still here.

They were the days. 5am start or something rediculous. The road from Rye to Dungerness via Camber was the highlight.

Re: Shims on no.2 - Thrust Bearings Yeah just called Reno and asked, they list loads of sizes from 2.3 upwards. whats confusing me is the width of the bearings i've got are fine, it's just they're clicking backwards and forwards on rotation of the crank? Is that normal? Also 2 crank seals...
