Re: Shims on no.2
No these were just the old ones put back in place. Yeah they're both there!
Im guessing from your replies they shouldn't move at all then?
Sorry only have the phone to hand, replies are a bit short!

I'm guessing they shouldn't rattle like that?
Anywhere apart from Reno sell them?
Test built up the bottom end before doing it properly this week and noticed this.
Thanks
I think you need some M8 x 50mm for the subframe to car and something shorter like m8 x 30mm for sidemount to subframe. Something rated 10.9 or higher should suffice.

You'll also need a load of high tensile bolts and nut's to mount subframe into the car and then sidemounts to subframes. Ebay seems to be the best place for them unless anybody knows differently.
Be interesting to see what a standard car with a factory driver achieves, though some of the regulars are getting a standard car round just over the 8min mark BTG.
Specifically ask them if they will straighten the wheel before you pay them to do the job because as Tony says, most will just adjust one side. Nothing more annoying then driving down a motorway with the steering on the piss!

Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
Big thanks to my mate Rich who works for Renault (richard1 on here). I emailed him yesterday to ask what the process is for getting a new locking wheel nut key. Apparently there is a code in the service book that gives them the type i'll need. I...
Not usually a fan of Impreza's, but that is lovely. Perfect infact!
The wet line around the ring is very different to the dry line (you'd be amazed at the difference). Well worth getting some tuition next time it rains as you won't believe the grip that is there on the wet line.
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
I'd need the 4 pe2's taken off the dynamique wheels, then 4 888's off the red wheels, then 4 888's put on the white wheels and the 4 PE2's put on the red wheels. They'd charge a fortune I bet!
We've discussed the hairspray thing, put none of us have...
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
I cba to touch them so they are staying white for now. Ideally the 888's will go on them and the red ones will be the road wheels, but again CBA. I'm swapping the 4 good PE2's onto them and selling the Dynamique wheels on the car as they're the wrong...
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
I don't look anything like Paul Daniels, pmsl. Brad Pitt maybe. Ugly fcuker!
I'm in serious need of whitewalled tyres, do they do them in 195/50?
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
Yeah, I'll only be using it to undo the 4 bolts once. Be really chuffed if we could find one to fit! Thanks for the help.
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
It's the standard Renault one mate. It's got a spinning sleeve round the edge and a flower pattern in the middle. Apparently they only made a few variations, so one of yours might fit if you've got a few knocking around?
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
I know mate it's a real dilemma. Without an engine in it I can't drive it to a welder, and the wacking a chisel into the just didn't work. The other option is a reverse tapper thing. I might take the risk with the key though first, just not sure on...
Re: Jon's trackday MK1 172 project thread
Had a day on the car today, and come late afternoon even had some help! Cheers Tom and Chris!
Started off by tidying the garage a bit and putting all the bits outside that are stored in the car every night. I'm at the point where we've virtually taken...
