Hi guys, just thought I’d share some info..
I fitted the AEM water methonal kit to my Clio turbo, lovely bit of kit.
But.. in the instructions there is an (optional) check valve that can be bought separately to stop siphoning I’d the meth tank is mounted higher that the injector nozzle.
Mine...
When I was considering a different turbo over the ED one as an upgrade I was talking to the guys at atpturbo.com
Lots of options and good price, very helpful too..
He basically helped me to opt for some newer tech though, I’m pretty sure you’ll get the desired effect from a Gen2 gtx2860r and...
I’d imagine the outcome would be pretty wild, there’s something highly addictive about turbo charging for me!!!
I love to see a well built N/A screaming around a track though!

2560 is a great choice also, very responsive when doing my research..
Also don’t get too caught up in the Garret is best approach, my ED turbo did 5years of abuse, still in perfect condition when upgraded for more power

ED turbo is a t25/28 hybrid there aren’t 2 different sizes for different output.. it’s actually a very reliable turbo and does the job well, although a tad laggy. (It’s very old tech now) the A/R is larger on the ED turbo .84 which means it’s very progressive and okay at higher RPM
GTX2860r...
Awesome job!! Thanks for the info mate, I’ll bear this in mind..
In fact, quick question.. if I were to use a duct to run into the engine bay to help keep under bonnet temps down would that compromise the effectiveness of the air passing through the radiator? Causing some kind of pressure...
Wow lovely stuff! That looks great, definitely something I’ll be looking into! I actually have some nice 3D printed fog light scoops originally for brake ducting but ended up never plumbing up so could use them if I can’t do an effective boxing/scoop job from the grill.
Do you do that kind of...
That is a great idea Ref the oil cooler ducting, it’s actually in a clear space away from the radiator so I could box that to the grill for better performance!
I like overkill, over engineering. I actually get the piss taken out of me for it but the mighty Clio keeps going!!

As with the belts and braces approach I have a very large intercooler (in comparison) to the ED intercooler which is a high end mishimoto race intercooler, so without a doubt it’s doing a much better job, but I was actually going to get this monitored when I go and get the new turbo and...
Yeah, I’ve also heard of the cossie stuff! A friend of mine mentioned that before.
It is more belts and braces to be honest, I’ve never had a chance to record it in track conditions. It’s survived Spa at 40 degrees and the ring.. had a ridiculously hot year there once.
Just like the idea of...
I thought about the turbo cooler rad, but can never find anything and then get fed up with looking.. know any good ones?? @frayz

Plenty of good run and heat help, we have a customer with a trophy that does 2miles a month and at MOTs the back box floods the workshop on cat test

When I did mine I measured in CC after they were cut against a standard head and I couldn’t see any noticeable difference.. mine were cut in though not just lapped in because my seats were quite pitted

I measured this, If I remember correctly it’s the 1.2mm shims from pure if re using standard springs

I checked back through my emails

Bought a sytec pump bracket and mounted it using bobbins. I’ll be putting a security wire on just in case the bobbins fail to catch the pump but looks and feels very secure

Good idea on mounting the pump on the outside from the swirl pot, exactly what I did when I did mine, I have no idea why people feel the need to put pumps into boots?
I’ve actually just upgraded my Inline pump as I’m pushing the power up on mine more.. the new pump was a tad louder than the one...
