A tester at a tuning firm beside me said if you can demonstrate that the airbag system has been removed completely I.e no light when ignition is turned on then it is passable, same goes for ABS and remember your dash does a light check on start up so its easy to spot.
As far as management...
If you have a flywheel then throw it on, its a good addition to other mods. If you do a lot of town driving and its a proper light flywheel it will stall easier and could get annoying though.
If its a track car then buy a cup with good mechanicals. Exhaust hangers, tyres etc don't pay attention to as there easily changed, make sure its got a good engine and gearbox. Fit new standard shockers, lowering springs, ARB, good disks and pads, bucket seats, harnesses and steering wheel. If...
There is a stub axle 8 pics down in this thread, measure the bit where his thumb is, its all you will see anyway when underneath. Pointless measuring between tyres etc as there's so many variations.

Okay perfect, I'll hold out a little while until you have more definitive dB levels with your manifold attached, Ideally I wouldn't want a silencer if I could get away with it for obvious reasons.
Yeah I understand you are doing it as part of an engine package which I like as nobody is pushing...
Need....£1585 posted for the package, overtime here we go.
Nick, does the stated 80dB & 93dB for the pure fitment with cat no silencer take into account the manifold too?
Also what sort of engine tunes have you tested it on so far, Im not looking for exact figures. I.e 421 catcams, Jenvey...
Stub axle thickness is measured with a tape measure lol, you need to know what one looks like first though. Measure the the piece that comes in direct contact with the axle to the back of the caliper carrier, where camber shims are fitted if you know what they are. I had the same problem when I...
Yeah not hard to reduce the overall thickness as long as there not monoblock type. Bit big from the looks of them, 330mm disks it seems and Porsche price tags attached to the pads.
Been speaking to ap racing and that thickness of disks is something I want to stay away from, muchos money. Double the price of those linked calipers just doesn't make sense. The only way a homebrew kit would sell in good numbers would be using standard disks or scenic ones, too cheap to ignore.
That's a shame, I'm going to come up with a cheaper bolt on kit soon using FRP Alcon's or more readily available callipers so its probably best to develop them for 2118's as that have the tightest tolerances likely to be seen IMO. I will make brackets to suit 280mm standard disks and 300mm...
Welcome back Chip, missed having debates even though your so pedantic.
Yeah same goes with most 15" wheels, they have a large band just behind the spokes which reduces the caliper/disk combo possible.
Have you tried your 1.2's on yet, I'm sure they will give the best scope for upgrading and...
Get a ribbed or shouldered pulley and bolt it to where the aircon pump mounts and a new belt, there is a few guides. Its too agricultural for my liking. Either cup setup or pure Motorsport are the only good setups readily available.
VAG 02J or 02M iirc do work but require adaptor plates etc etc. Scoff at EFI parts had developed a conversion kit.

Take the motor off if your doing it with the lower dash in place Kelv then refit it when the column is in place. It fits as per old column if you have the lower part out.
