Haha fair enough then, i never had a look around your car on sunday, no dash is keen for a daily.
Yeah shims behind the stub axles. Pure Motorsport sell loads of different sizes, they could probably advise on what's best too as they have a cup racer of their own, I haven't tested any toe out on...
When the corner weighting is done your tracking and camber will all need set again just so you know and also if you remove the strut to hub bolts then same applies again.
You want parallel or toe 'out' on the front for a more race sort of setup, it will scrub tyres fairly quickly if your using...
That only points out that there is a fault on that cylinder, it could be piston rings, head gasket, spark plugs, ht leads, coil pack etc. doing that and then removing the plugs to check the condition/colour would be more of a definitive test. You could also remove the injector plugs one at a...
Alright michael, the only time you would ever do that is on an oval car like the stock cars or if your really into your car setups then they can be adjusted to suit a certain track. Would handle like shite on the road though and in a straight line on track tbh but would go round corners well...
Use a ratchet strap/rope or something similar that can be removed when the bolts are in. Put it round the wishbone in a loop and stand or kneel on it to pull the hub down.
Make sure the cars jacked up both sides too as you will just fight a loosing battle against the ARB.
Don't forget the 30lb sledge and the scaffolding tube.
To lower the subframe is pretty simple although time consuming sometimes, work through every connection between it the car and the steering rack and you can't go wrong.
My control box arrived today, its tiny I was expecting bigger for some...
Remember to take the the column off first, frame support bars to the chassis legs, lower gearbox mount, dog bone, gear linkage might need lowered too, strut top caps and then lower it all down with a jack at the rear of the frame and the front bolts left in.
edit: re read your piece, make sure...
Few of my old XR2, only car I wish I kept but I didnt have the cash for or know anywhere to keep it through the winters. Had pretty much every extra from factory, head rests, both front seatbelts and wing mirrors, parcel shelf etc etc, was on 56,000 mile when I got it and had only had paint on...
Never heard of this before on any car tbh.
I'm guessing, belts off, piston at TDC, smack the retainer with a socket until the collets come out, replace stem seal and struggle like feck to get the spring cap and collets back in?
Another video uploaded from the 2nd last session, I managed to change the settings so the video isn't squashed. I was caught between two paps, one in a Astra that thought he was racing me, luckilly I seen him make a dive at the hairpin and let him through and the 206 driver who was bordering on...
Yeah it was, I knew what happened straight away as well for some reason, pity I forgot to put on the go pro as I was giving michael foz's missus a run. I was lucky the handbrake locked on the o/s/r or I was off tbh.
Watching the vids makes me want back out too, will see if I get a chance to...
Yeah that's what I said, wasn't very clear tbh. Typical phone grammar.
I think he already has a welded boss so a 'x' over would be the easiest option, I don't know the thread types or packaging space though.
Chip spoke about a setup for Lesley's car as he has already built his setup. Not at one point did I say he didn't need bigger/better brakes, its a given with more power. What I did say was that imo my setup would suffice for Chips car with a better pad after the excess I had in braking on track...
No worries
Cheers mate. Its a brilliant little circuit that has massive elevation changes that videos just don't show, if your pushing you can be on two wheels for the first 3/4 of the lap. Definitely worth the travel, BTCC drivers class it as one of the best circuits on the package due to the...
Aye cheers Liam, I will try and make the 15th but will have to wait and see with work.
How much mate?
Just what I paid for them mate, £25 delivered? PM if interested.
You have an answer for everything, can you not just admit you took my original comments out of context and be done with it.
Using logic with how much excess of braking I have in my car and adding that to a better friction material I would say its more than enough to suit your car.
You...
No question he's a clever cookie, I don't doubt him that for one minute but why....every time there's a simple answer does there have to be a long winded mathematical equation that has little to no importance.
I tried to help with pictures and information to fit 197/225 brembos under a 15" oz f1 originally and then passed on information from actual experience of how my brakes were more than sufficient with standard pads and yours would suffice with a better pad on my setup.
You then went off on a...
Exactly they weigh less, go faster and hold higher cornering speeds but still do with smaller brakes.
But chip will argue that 3.1444444444 to the power of ten will leave joules (that's Jims sister) with a sore big toe due to the higher pedal exertion applied. Childish, yes but no need to beso...
PS I never said anything about a Clio with 300bhp versus an escort with 300bhp which is your argument. I am speaking about weight and simply that, two cars irrelevant of power the Clio has less work to do in braking.
