Just test fitted my new set of 15" Pro Race 1.2 with Dunlop DZ03G tyres.
These are going to be my dry set up and using Federal RSR's for when it is wet.
Just wondering how many of you have personally tried to fit 14" wheels?
I agree that they probably will not fit, but until they have been tried you don't know ( I apologise if you have tried them)
I was looking at a set of track wheels for my Megane 250 a while ago (all different wheels with...
I see what you mean about when it is wet.
Being only for trackdays I would probably come in and change tyres before it got too bad.
What compound was that you was using in the video?
I have Federal's for when it is wet and road (the car only gets driven to and from the track on the road), this set will only be used on dry days so getting heat into them should not be a problem.
I seen the 888's when they were about £70 per corner about a month ago, I was tempted but wanted a better tyre as it will just be for dry use and the reviews I have read the Dunlops are a lot better.
What are the Dunlops like on a damp track then? is it just a case of keeping the heat in them?
Cheers Tony
I know you use the Dunlops what sort of life could I expect out of them (it would be medium compound as I am having 195/50/15) for just trackdays?
Also have you used Marongonis before and is there much in it between the Dunlops and them?
why don't you just get the alignment checked first and providing everything is OK get them to take a bit of camber off, std set up (if cup packed) is -0.45` +/- 0.30`, so if you went on the max tolerance it is not much different to what you have already.
Anybody have opinions of the tyres.
These will be for dry use only as they are going on a second set of wheels, as I have Federals RSR for getting to the track and if it is wet.
The Dunlops are about £450 for four but the Marongonis semi slick are about £330 for four and the Dmacks are about...
I am getting a second set of wheels for my track car (brand new 1.2's) in white.
I would like them in orange but Rimstock only do them in batches so a very long wait.
Anybody have any ideas how much it would cost to paint 4 15inch wheels in fosus st orange?
as long as it stops or reduces the rattle at speeds around 70 that's fine as it only annoys me when I am driving to the track, it can make as much noise as it wants when I am on the track I don't care
After looking at that picture, it gave me an idea.
the shaft is only held down by a spring and it is resting onto a metal nut so at 60+ mph the vibrations are probably allowing it to move up and down on the face of the nut causing the rattle, and it can be stopped by resting a hand onto of the...
Build the cage up in the car and position everything front feet centre feet and make sure the cage is pulled towards the back of the car so the rear feet are on the arch, and the centre feet are as wide apart as possible (you may need to force it out a little, I used ratchet straps.
tack weld...
If you have a cage, buckets, harnesses etc it should not matter for the MOT (I e-mailed VOSA to check) but I still got mine turned off with CLIP so when the ignition is on all lights illuminate then go off once the engine has started
If I were you I would keep trying to replicate the problem and if you can get it to do it more than a couple of times get it checked out, possibly even at a Renault dealers and inform customer services.
If it does not happen again don't worry about it as I am sure your wife will never forget to...
Pure Motorsport,
I have the gear linkage and top mounts and strut brace and they are well engineered bits of kit so would assume the exhaust is the same
you should not be getting brake fade on the road, on a track where you are stamping on the brakes every few seconds and braking from high speed I am sure a more open wheel will reduce brake fade but it will be more down to type of pads, discs and fluid used
I am after some slightly longer nuts for my wheel studs to make it easier to screw them on by hand.
Has anybody used the Racing Composite R40 nuts?
They look quite good steel nut with a separate rotating aluminium seat...
Had a bit of time today so made myself a new saddle for the Halfords trolley jack.
Now I am getting a second set of wheels I will need to take a jack with me to tracks so it was either take my big sealey jack or this.
I have never liked the saddle on these as it is too small so found some steel...
