I had been offered some discount on parts before for stickers on the car (Easy one to negoiate) but for the small amount saved I would rather leave some panel space for bigger sponsors.
No fiberglass, just getting the inside done in grey when the guts are cut out. We need a group buy going for...
Well finally some progress has been made, interior stripped out tonight with all the panels off. I managed to get my first bit of sponsorship so the interior is getting done in graphite grey (Honda colour) in return for some stickers on the car and paint at cost price.
That will be done in...
Ill try but my first race up here is pencilled in for June/July realistically. Doesn't really lend itself to Clio's tbh but you need big gonads to be commited around there. Donnington,Brands and Oulton would be my preferred choices in that order.
130,140mph tail out....hhhhhmmm I'm out...
Looks good that, I spent a day removing 1 standard seat rail/ floor stiffener and positioning and welding in another 2 seat rails by myself.
I feel your pain!!!
So from what you have said there are at least 3 lengths of shaft, be it one piece or 2 piece.
Was the 182 shaft you compared to the 172 cup shaft one or 2 piece Chip? Was there one piece shafts fitted to any 182's?
I inserted the wrong picture in above post. This is 172 inner track rods against cup.

Stupid iPad
this thread is good.

Yup I agree with that as Cupman fitted a 2 piece shaft to his 172 cup to allow room for an oil drain and has had no issues. Iirc the 2 piece shaft was only fitted to 182's so they are longer than 172 non cups and fit fine on 172 cups because the Cup has a bigger track width comparable to the...
There are longer driveshafts for different cars, for a start there needs to be longer shafts as the two piece design shaft has to travel further than a one piece shaft that's simple and Fred has said many times you need the correct shafts as he has tried different variations and had problems. As...
Exactly what I said above Phil but........ Re-read what I have said, it's a bit hazy in above post. IMO there are only 2 types of hub. Ones that were fitted to all 172's (small bearing) and ones that were fitted to all 182's (big bearing). The hubs have different hole spacings as well but that...
The difference with what Phil wanted to do is he was looking to swap from 172 cup to 182 cup iirc, so they are widest track of the 1*2's to begin with against you ff182. Like i said in another thread, you should be okay with the swap that you have done.....but there are different steering arms...
Sorry but that's wrong. Steering arms and shafts are longer on a 172 cup, they have the subframe drilled different so need to be. Wishbones are drilled different but are no longer. In your case you should have no problems as I think there are only two types of hub. Hubs for 172's and hubs for...
Not quite but that could be said for rear pads. Between engine vibration with race mounts and general abuse it will get when raced, it wouldn't be the first belt I've had come of with that design, fiesta did it monthly. Difference with the Clio is it could be tattles for the engine or race over.
What's his name Daniel, that search returns me to this thread lol.
Chip, I already have a genuine cup setup that I'm getting rid of for more room and fitting a cup racer job, would like a little back up...
I can see this ^^^^^^from short time I have been on CS.
I've noticed Gaz get a hard time on here for some reason( Good stuff in the Ford world & IME)
Ford is possibly the most modified brand in the UK in years gone so there is a lot of experience compared to the Clio. I think the issue is...
