Time for a bit of an update, nothing exciting but a few more goodies arrived. The car hasn't been worked on for nearly 3 months I realised after looking back at this thread :S. With moving lock up and having less space and the rubbish winter not much has got done..... so no more excuses...
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ....aaahhhh.... hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
Reading fail, I sat and thought this is a fecking good deal this!!
Just the power at wheels bit leans towards 4wd's for me, they will be making loads more at the fly. FWD/RWD figures are usually given at fly. Should have a wide spread of cars though tbh BHP/ton is a bit hard to police but its all for fun.
230bhp Clio over a 350bhp impreza, which one will win...
No worries I'll take a note. Im pretty sure there the same. I'll measure upmsometime. I was under no impression that they could be bought from patent part/motor factors as 90% of the time all the manufacturers rely on these company's to make parts and then stick there badge on. It's just trying...
Lol I was expecting you lads to be wrecking brakes and tyres to be honest, even with not being at the sharp end. My mates in minis are doing 2-3 tyres a weekend, qualy and 2 or 3 10lap/10 minute races and there doing disks most months and stripping and de glazing brakes between races.
Thats a...
Yeah I meant the g/box selector. Hope those disks turn out good, 2 for 1 against HC's.
Out of interest how much disks and pads did you go through last season and roughly how much miles/hours did you get from them. Tyres also, I'm building up an inventory to save on costs when I get going.
Getting there Pete, did you fit that selector repair kit?
Muchos cheapness on the disks, don't quote me but I think they are just normal disks but have absolutely no difference to the high carbon versions in how they handle heat or wear.
Omex can supply you with a plug to suit the sensor, penny's to buy.
You can also buy their converter to avoid chopping. Best speaking to omex they are a good bunch and will advise best.
So you switched from factory bolts over to studs and nuts? Manufacturer of them should have instructions of some kind. I would torque to 100nm if there ain't guidelines.
Good luck getting them out when needed without damaging them. 100nm for the studs into the hubs themselves is a bit much tbh, probably a bit more stress on the thread shoulder than was needed but they should be okay, the wheel nuts should be torqued to around 100nm
Yeah you can do all bold colours in 2k, I even toyed with a storm grey sort of colour for easyness but I think it would disappoint?? I think it has to be white or nothing really in 2k but for the small difference its worth the time IMO to go base and clear.
Denso tape on the threads is your best bet for road grime. From what I have read the Spax are a little soft for a focused track car and FK's are an improvement. At a guess FK will have a good customer service being a typical German optimised outfit. The Gerry's almost always do things well lol.
Id like to know more also, is that a spherical on the outer and is that RCA pins on the 2nd set. ARB link looks a little flimsy from pics but they aren't the best pics.
You have problems there I'm afraid tigger or no disrespect you can't check oil. Are you checking both sides of stick as it can touch the tube with oil in it and give a false reading on one side. Dip a few times to make sure.
I'm going anthracite, you wouldn't believe how many sprayers are trying to convince me to go white lol, must be easier to paint for them.
Is that quite a dark grey Russ but the flash is making it brighter? Audi iirc?
Only real thing you could do is fit a starter to the cup engine and turn it over out of the car to check compression, remove sump and check big ends without getting to involved and ££'s. If its a good ene then fit it and do belts when its started and your happy its a keeper. You could do all...
Yeah wait and see what Scoff says tbh. I would just fit the cup engine if its okay mate, just get someone in the know to check it over. As has been said, i would give you a hand if closer, proper bummer, iv had similar with customer cars when they do things on the cheap, you feel sick for them...
