I have to make my mind up, that after my matched inlets being fitted this week, the exhaust squeal sorted, and with the addition of an enlarged throttle body and induction kit. whether to remap at Engine Dynamics, or go for the Generic RS Tuner and see what happens
Am wondering whether the The...
Theres only one thing on my mind about getting older, is when you buy that Audi R8 or similar, cos the pension pot is the only real money i'll ever have, will you be able to get in and out of it......
so with a generic map, if you have non standard set up, with different air intake, manifold and throttle body set up, the generic map wouldnt run straight?
Can the modifications be tuned in with the Tuner box?
And if the thing don't run properly, does it keep the OEM map so that can be put...
Couple other threads debating whether the RSTuner is worth it, and whether a remap is favourite or not
K-Tec (Blandford in the South) EFI (Cheshire) and Engine Dynamics (Essex) all offer Remaps from £200 upwards (K-Tec £300, ED £200)
I have a Phase 1, 172, has anyone got any remap graphs...
EFI is Cheshire so a loooooong drive from Sussex (4hrs+ and 260 miles e.w. too far)
Engine Dynamics, Kelvedon, nr Colchester- not a nice drive (1hr 50 mins and 100 miles e.w- doable)
Cheshire- long drive from Sussex- may give him a call though. thanks (260 miles and 4hrs+ each way- thats a trek and a nasty drive for a day/ as well as £70 ish petrol)
Ive now another option as Ive sussed that K-Tec Racing, Renault tuning specialists, are about 110 miles from me, and will do a tailored Remap for my Phase 1, with before and after Dyno print outs for around £300
Deffo an option over RSTuning box, and having matched inlets, bored out throttle...
K-Tec are offering their tailored remap on a phase 1 for £318 including vat
Includes a panel filter (Which i wouldnt need) so hoping £300. (Lot of money for a Phase 1 worth a Grand)
Its either that or an RS Tuner for about 250euro from Henk
Just a bit worried about getting the RStuner, then...
if you need to learn, suggest you get a sub £1000 running 172 (Phase 1 or 2) and take it for a thrash around your local track
That's what I did, tinkered with a few things, got some spare wheels with track tyres, and a half roll cage- and away I went
Its roadgoing, so no trailering needed, and...
Any way of telling if my Phase 1 had been tuned with an RS Tuning box before I bought it?
Goes really well, couple flat spots
Surrey rolling road says peak 165bhp
OH, didn't realise that - where? RS Tuner is resaleable so if RSTuner costs £220, get at least £100 back?
I got a response from the RS Tuner website within 24 hrs as seen, which was fast and seems civil:
Hi Chris,
Correct ECU will not be locked.
> will there be after market support if I...
^ ^ To be fair there are a few good comments amongst that lot. Product looks a good one, customer service seems lacking
Not a lot of money in the grand scheme
If you find a decent Clio mapper in Sussex let me know :-) (Hove me)
If you need a mechanical help, Clioman in Littlehampton done a...
Just so OP knows what we are talking about:
https://www.fastchip.nl/help/rstuner/rstuner-instruction-videos
Website seems very sluick with instructional videos and lots explanantion-
Shame the Customer support hasn't got good reviews
whats the difference between buying a used RS Tuner and an unlock code from Henk (Which seems a lot do on here)
or buy a new one from Henk, where no unlock code is needed (Other than cost)
Seems more customer support would be needed for an unlock code?
Surely he should make money out of...
In same boat with my Phase 1 . Remaps are pricey, and gains for mine r not that great
Going for that RS Tuner box from Henk in Belgium. Gets good write up.
Got to get my skates on, and sort before Brexit- otherwise, never know whats gonna be held up
Nice one- I picked a phase 1 up 2 year ago for £550, was chuffed too. Still love it
Always been torn with spending on it to get up to road/track top spec, or just take it as is to track and thrash it around half dozen times a year as purchased
Sort of went for middle road, spent a bit, but not...
Looking at doing this when the weather gets a tadge warmer
Understand its not the easiest of jobs with aircon on mine, the lower inlet anyway. Any gains with just fitting the top inlet, or would is mess the airflow and outcome in an uneven throttle?
Is a new lower inlet gasket needed?
Any...
Thanks. Certainly learnt something there
No battery in the spare key required then
Would still like to repair my primary key. Or find somewhere that can
Like many threads on here my immobiliser, with the primary central locking key, doesn't disengage. When key is on ignition position the red light keeps happily flashing away, and engine turns over, but no start
Have replaced key battery, and also used the eBay return kit with new casing etc. No...
So, just bought the Monsoon tailored to the Mk 2 Clio, with locking kit
£123 all in all, with postage and vat
Will post up piccies when I have
A bit extravagant for a £550 Clio, but then keeping the weather of it is a must IMO
Must now go and plan building a garage
Thread resurrection. Getting a similar thing on mine only last few days
After turning to ignition, Immobilser light either continues to flicker, or stays solid red, and car wont start
Every 6th or 7th time of turniing ignition off/on, the light stays out and the engine starts and runs fine
Had...
Bit of a pain to do, but removed the bumper today to replace a OSF headlight on a Phase 1
Just thought I would add, that if you are swapping out a headlamp unit, you don't have to take both sides of the bumper off.
Just remove the 2 torx screws, and also (for me) the spoiler screws, as it got...
Are they worth it?
Notice most members go after Magnecore performance leads. £90 new, but other manufacturers are about half that
Notice they come in diameters between 7mm and 10mm. Assume bigger is better
Are they copper, or are there better conductors (Yes, but not paying for Gold LOL)
And...
