Well I cover East Sussex, based near Brighton, so doubtful you mean me
Not sure how many reps cover South Coast... must be several
Think Tim (cant remember other detail) covers Hampshire and West (Ish) , convenes the Surrey Rolling Road Dyno events
He may cover Portsmouth- not sure
Depending on his history of offences, if he's been in no bother- they wont be too fussed on the MOT, probably just "get one" but tax could be a fine on top of what he O's, insurance up to 9 points I believe
No ban,
That's the stuff I am going for
Some are NFP and some is NFJ- anyone know the difference
Can you buy it on the hight street somewhere- Halfords and Eurocarparts don't have it
good call. Gearbox oil for me in the next few days, but cant see where to get the recommended ELF 75W80 stuff that quick?
Anyone know- ebay is next thrusday earliest- really need by Tuesday
3.1 ltr, maybe new copper washer for drain plug
No. not monitored temps yet.
Yes- Only for 20 minute sessions, but it does get f'ing hot under there
My assumption was that heat rises, and would place them higher up the bonnet. There would be a fair draught thru.....
Will get round to drilling large diameter vent ports behind the front number plate soon, as the engine bay gets so hot on track
Don't like the permanent bonnet lifters that raise the windshield end of the bonnet an inch or 2
Anyone tried fitting bonnet vents angled to the windshields for a...
Yes, seen these. But they don't seem to come with a gasket between manifold and Cat?
Is it not needed- or do you buy seperately
Seems a bit daft to buy a fitting kit without a gasket
Am interested in this post :-)
Probably the adrenalin rushing when I lunged for the gearbox on track - not as bad as I thought, but 2nd is progressively harder to find, especially when in a hurry on track, and other gears are crunching. (4th/3rd up and down, 3rd to 2nd) When toodling around its...
172 Phase 1. Think its a JC05? Someone tell me please.
Crunching in 2 gears when changing down, occasionally up, and cant find 2nd gear when at speed, other gears are getting progressively more difficult
Is it worth geting it reconditioned? If so, where in South East- prefer not to take box...
Ive seen a few posts on here which suggests the gains of a 182 manifold and sports cat (Apparently the 182 standard cat is a 200 cell cat) are diddly squat
Seems any performance mod on here gets equal measures of positive and negative comments- best just try what suits I think
now leaning toward Engine dynamics bespoke remap at £200
Enlarge throttle body (Yes Bloke) matched inlets, induction kit, soon to be sports cat (Yes Bloke)
Will leave it at that I think. Maybe 182 manifold (Yes Bloke lol)
I will be whizzing up to Engine Dynamics in next couple months, Renault specialist on maps
Kelvedon, Essex, bout 100 miles from me, so closer for you
Must meet up at Brands sometime for a little spin round??
just change it more frequently, even couple thousand miles
Constant fresh oil for a few months will act as a flush
get a magnetic sump plug too
(Although many will slate it, they still catrch some crud)
Depends which Dyno you use- think some of them are quite "encouraging"
Mine was 165bhp 2 years ago, and not expecting much more before a remap, but just driving better will be great
To be honest, it goes pretty good now, maybe just being greedy. Just a few flat spots at top of rev range
and...
I already have a 4:1 manifold, how is the 182 different?
Whatever you put on, cant seem to get above 175bhp without a lot of outlay- so just a map and leave standard Cat on methinks
My throttle body was playing up for months- least that got fixed. But enlarged throttle body and matched inlets cant be a step in wrong direction. I will find out on next dyno run. 165bhp on a run with no mods.
Dont think will go to trouble of swapping out exhaust manifolds n stuff- straight to...
Just seen an older thread from NorthloopCup saying BTB is 2.5inch and a standard 172 Cat will fit
So where could I get a cheap 200 cspi Cat to fit. Think too pricey. Back to decat position if noise levels ok
Scuse me for my musings, going off topic a bit
ED: Just seen post above: Noted thanks...

Yes, realise its more driveability you get, than power increase. Although Phase 1 owners seem happy with what they get with either
RSTuner or remap will be the last serious upgrade I do to the car, before (Maybe) getting something more powerful
Clio is great fun in all the twists and turns...
