It was just a cheap Chinese one. I found the first time I did Mull that I couldn't see the insides of hairpins and 90 l/R very well. This is the advantage of the bar over spots as they light up from the bonnet. They don't have the spot distance but when your in a slower car it's not an issue and...
I had it for around 8 years and it had done over 100 events the rear arches ended up being the usual puma rust but it wasn't the worst out there by a long shot.
Its still going somewhere so I can't of built it that bad lol.
Sounds like you have a plan. Definitely get the weight down as low as you can I will be at round 200kg out of the twingo once I have finished the doors boot and bonnet.
Get it handling and stopping is a good plan and it's the way I always go rather than engine work. My old puma had S1600 brakes...
LOL I wouldn't fancy one just know they do well in the 1400 class. Most people on the forum run 2.0 Clios not helpful engine wise but some of the build threads are a really good read regarding everything else.
I am building a Twingo 133 so not very useful at all ?
Why was your heart not in the Puma? Just asking as I ran a puma for road rallys and stage for years. You may find that the 1400 is one of the most competitive classes as you need to spend to get results as you will be down 50-70bhp down.
You would probably be better in a MG zr in the 1400 class...
The twingo forum is s**t. I was the only one who replied to him (well sounds like the same issues) Do the above but I also recommended to him to wip the pump out and clean the plastic filter as mine was full of s**t.
Yeah 6k is a lot of money for a base car.
A colt czt could be fun or a Punto with the 1400 t jet. I am not even 3k into the twingo yet so it's very much a budget build!
Certainly back in more interesting days. As anything above r4 looks nothing like its road going version. I couldn't imagine rallying back then though with spectators standing that close its bad enough when you get the odd idiot.
I think the UK is starting to get there now closed road events are...
Sure they were Ford wheels as there 4x108. It will depend on the offset and how the wheels have been machined on the inside of the wheel if the calipers are touching the rim on the top if catching on the front side it's the offset.
Find one that fits over the caliper but touches the front side...
I know it's not technically a Clio question but didn't know where else to post!
I am struggling to find decent rear coilovers for the Twingo rally car so I was wondering if the rear Dampers are of similar size to a 172/182 as avalibility is straight off the shelf for the Clio where as nothing...
No there not as slow as people make out and very useful without the rear seats.
I would like it to handle bumps as good as my Puma did as its much quicker on the flat ish stuff. Need to get it as light as possible I think to hopefully get some pots and lots of seat time. I am tempted to buy...

Its getting there slowly let's say! Been a lot harder to do than my old puma.
I am doing it all myself learning all the time lol but learned loads with the Puma. Just hope to be out middle of the year as it will...
Keep going to the end as there is usually deer close to the road for some good photos. You should also look at doing the loop round Loch leven as that's really good with some good views.
I really wish I got back up more as the roads round the North East of England are poor in comparison.
